51-70k What can be improved in my build

Beginner
Cpu: Ryzen 5500 (rs 7k)
Mobo: asus prime-II k b450m (4.1k)
Gpu: sapphire rx 6600 (18.5k)
ram: 2x8gb 3200mhz (2.4k)
SSD: 1TB crucial P3 plus (4.6-4.7k)
Cabinet: Ant eSports elite 1100 (2.25k)
Psu: corsair 550watt bronze (3.5k)

Monitor: msi pro mp251 100hz, 1ms, adaptive sync with speakers (6.3k)
Mouse: Razer deathadder essential (998)
Keyboard: cosmic byte vanth (1484)
UPS: CyberPower BU1000e (4.5k)



Total build is around 57k. Is there anything that can be improved while costing only like 1-3k?


My requirements are: 1080p 60+fps on atleast medium settings throughout games like black myth wukong, cyber punk 2077 for 3-4 years and a little bit of editing (i know nvidia is better for that but I don't want rtx 3050)

Some rationale behind specific parts:

  1. The 5500 does not support PCIe 4.0, you have chosen a gen 4 NVMe. 5600 is a much better option, overall
  2. Similarly, the Asus B450 mobo does not support 4.0
  3. The Corsair PSU is of a lower tier
  4. Ant eSports cabinets are of shitty quality, even more so at this price range.
  5. Where are you getting 8x2 (16GB) of RAM for 2.4K?

I haven't accounted for a UPS, since the changes made may be worth the trade-off. It depends on how often you have power cuts. Feel free to make changes, accordingly.

Increase the budget a bit, as many of those parts you selected are just bad. Some cheap parts are really a waste of money, no point in later regretting.

Use this as a starting point. At the bare minimum make the following changes to that build:
  1. RAM - 2x16GB 3200MHz instead (some games have started having issues with just 16GB RAM)
  2. SSD - SN580 (it does sell for under 5k at times with CC offer on amazon)
  3. Monitor - Acer VG240Y M3 for 8k, if it gets back in stock, else any other proper gaming 24" 1080p IPS gaming monitor with 144Hz (or more Hz) - Reason is that cheaper monitors have panels which are worse in response times, colours & even contrast ratio even though it seems fine on paper
Optional - Cabinet - MSI 120A is cheap, can be another option

Instead of Crucial P3 Plus, choose SN580 or SN770 as crucial p3 plus is QLC (QLC has the worst Endurance Rating) whereas both the latter are TLC. Most of the B550 motherboards supports two M.2 slots, the cheapest one with two M.2 being ASUS PRIME B550M-K, go for it if u need additional slot for future storage upgrade.

Patriot is selling 2x8gb on Amazon for 2.4k. I might go for i3-12100f + rx 7600 to balance the build while keeping the costs down. With i3 12th gen,rx 7600, wd SSD, 650w msi mag psu, and UPS included I am getting a build of 60k exact. Could maybe go for msi mag 120A if able to fit my cabinet, will go to offline stores to probably get a good deal on these parts and even a used gpu

Ah I am trying to balance the build to be under 60k with ups included. The msi mp251 does seem to be good enough for my needs. I have changed the SSD to SN580 but I may not be able to get 32gb of ram. I need a good used gpu under warranty to be able to make the build under 60k while optimising it haha.

Ah I am trying to balance the build to be under 60k with ups included. The msi mp251 does seem to be good enough for my needs. I have changed the SSD to SN580 but I may not be able to get 32gb of ram. I need a good used gpu under warranty to be able to make the build under 60k while optimising it haha.

Save more money.

As mentioned, some parts are a waste of money. PC gaming is expensive & companies are increasing the barrier to entry, in a way. FYI - CPUs of handhelds will outperform R5 5500 (core ultra 5 135H, let's say of MSI claw).

Sadly even if I wanted to, I can't. I am not earning anything currently. The PC is a gift that will be purchased by my parents and i want to make sure I am able to build the best possible setup without hurting their wallet
 
Check this for a used GPU. Heard they are good. Don't know about their online store. But they also have a physical store in Delhi.

The RTX 3060 is fine. Avoid the 2060. It has 6 GB of VRAM (unless you get a Super). You can get a used 5700XT for around 10k-12K. It's faster and has more VRAM. Maybe a 1080Ti, if you can find one. That 11 GB frame buffer would be a bonus.

1080ti would be Great, but can't ignore the risk of getting a mined 1080ti in today's date.
Also, Nvidia is gonna discontinue the driver update support for the gtx 1080 in a while (or probably did)

AFAIK, it's going to be CUDA-based deprecation of drivers, not a complete halt on driver support, per se. Basically no more feature-based support. It won't really matter, since those GPUs stopped getting game/feature-specific enhancements some time ago because they don't conform to specific feature sets, anymore. Basic driver support should continue for another year or two.

I did see his site along with gameloot, zoukart etc. I could get a rx 6700xt if my parents are fine with giving up 3 years warranty for 3months
