News Nintendo Switch 2 Direct Highlights (FromSoftware Exclusive, Sakurai Returns for Kirby, A camera!? and much more)

Not any more, my friend. Just in:

Also, GTS is mainly well-known particularly for among PlayStation circles, titles, and preorders. Back in the day, they used to have a PC section selling digital keys, which they pulled the cord in 2023. They even shuttered the Switch section end of last year, so naturally it's not surprising for people to not know their name in the Nintendo/Switch ecosystem.

Don't care about US anyway. HK or Dubai are the import hubs for India.

If Duskbloods is really an online game , why make it exclusive? Wouldn't it benefit from players from other consoles too?
It might be exclusive only for a certain time . They say exclusive and then after a year or 2 ..it ends up everywhere from mobiles to toasters.

except for first party games ..I no longer get excited with the word "exclusive " anymore.

Yeh Sab Ganda hai ..par dhandha hai.

Switch 1 has sold amazingly well in India even with no launch.
The most optimistic projections put the Indian sales at about half a million units. Considering the over 150 million units sold worldwide, it is about 0.3% of their sales and don't think Nintendo would bother with that. Sony has sold about the same number of PS5 units officially, and it seems population with discretionary spending on consoles in India is about that much in India at present and will probably not expand much if prices keep going up.

Half a million sold in grey. Imagine Mario power if people actually get to demo games in stores officially.
But I hope it keeps coming via grey route. Tends to be cheaper.

The power of nostalgia is something, but most of those who are interested, do pick it up through the grey route as you mentioned. Maybe Nintendo might be able to sell double that by spending on marketing and logistics, but that would still not be substantial enough. Paying equal to or more than US prices, considering the purchasing power over here reduces it to a niche product and doesn't appeal to the general audience.

Switch got sold half a million because it was easiest of all the big 3 to get modified/jailbreak for pirated games. If gamers in India had option of only buying original games from Nintendo they would have maximum sold between 1lakh to 2 lakh .

Nintendo can do something like regional pricing and all to increase numbers in India . If it is seriously thinking of officially coming here but if it wants to stick to its $70-$80 pricing for gaming in India too.....they will be making a mistake.

Gaming (beyond mobile games) is a luxury in Indian market. Consoles are costly, games are costly, subs are costly.
Switch will not be an exception.

Do we know if there will be any Indian retailer/sellers?

All resellers will get it. Better to connect with local ones instead of Amazon or MX etc. Their markup is horrendous.

I think the price is already considering the tariff.
If it goes further above ...Nintendo is being too overconfident again.
They might repeat WiiU mistake.( Which in my opinion is superb console but had poor marketing ).
Seems the price did not fully factor in the tariffs. If they pass on at least half the tariffs, which as per rumours will push the starting price to at least $549, the impact will be felt across the world, as Nintendo will have to cut their margins to do so.

Seems Nintendo imported about 300-400K units per month since Jan, so they may launch at that price initially, but things will only get worse.

Vietnam is already willing to reduce or eliminate tariffs for US goods. Saw news online of ongoing discussions.

It is altogether a separate discussion because the number that the Trump administration has come up with does not reflect the tariff charged by a country, but just the trade deficit divided by exports of that country. They basically want countries to stop exporting to US if you go by their formula, so it is going to be a long discussion.

Yeah. Trump doing Trump things. Such an indecisive time for the world. All stocks tanked like crazy!
