Destroyed US reputation and stability of US bonds, when all this could have been done by simply putting tariffs on China only. Anyone who believes Trump planned this out is delusional. He himself admitted he spooked looking at the bond markets.

He was asked this question and his staff says the EU tariffs aren't in force yet. They are planned for a later date and his team thinks it will be later still. I'll have to go with that.


Canada has imposed tariffs and thinks they can along with the EU preserve the old system minus the US :rolleyes:

Yes, their government actually believes that. Given the crap we've got from them it's likely credible

China holds lot of USA bonds, melt down in bond market which may or may not have been triggered by China caused Trump's 90 days tariff pause. It's evident who got later clarity to their mind.

Canada has levied tariffs. Trump hasn't said much of late compared to his earlier trolling of Canada
