I dont know which one is it, if you have any method to check then I might have it tested on the Vendor's end.

4tb variant is seen to come with QLC, can't be sure with 2tb one. This could be maxio controller with ymtc 232L nand flash (seeing the firmware version). To be sure you can check the part number on the Nand flash under the sticker or use maxio flash ID tool from this site: http://vlo.name:3000/ssdtool/

@TechnologyHell i think the link alucard shared might have what you might be looking for

See, I would like to clear one thing down.
These are bulk purchased units, mostly from amazon return pellet, and dont come with much info.
Nor the official website has it mentioned about the QLC and TLC chips used on the nvme.

The vendors, they deal in bulk, and often refuse to even share original product images.
We as resellers, book items from their inventory, and dropship to end customers.
In this case, the vendor is still sharing item images, responding regularly, even shared a proper disk mark for the specific drive that is currently booked via token amount for @bssunilreddy

Note - all were absolutely unused drives, and the diskmark has brought a data read / write of around 300gb each.

As a conclusion, it wont be possible for me to share any total in depth analysis of the drive.
If the item was physically in my hands, I could still have done it (for example, I was totally up for all sorts of info about the WD Black SN770 1tb NVMEs that I sold in my previous thread)

----------------

Received full payment for 1 unit from @blackwidowsea - Will be dispatching order asap.
Received token payment for 1 unit from @bssunilreddy - Expected complete payment by saturday, followed by pickup on Monday.

Remaining 3 units in stock

Seems the drive is Lenovo Branded OEM 980 Pro. I recently purchased a similar drive from @aasimenator , which was HP branded. That one came with latest firmware (MY: Dec 2024). Since this one has MY 2021, you can just flash it with a stable release using this repository.

How Did you identify that it is from lenovo?
I have the same environment installed on my primary p.C.
How do I know which one it is and how do I Update firmware??

The part number of this drive ends with xxxxxxBL7. For HP, it was xxxxxBH1. Last digit signifies if your drives is self encrypting (SED). It's important because flashing a non SED drive with SED firmware will make it read only.
How do I know which one it is and how do I Update firmware??
You can check the firmware in crystal disk info. Either way, try using this tool first:

If it doesn't work, then clone the above repository in a linux machine and follow readme. You will need the drive installed in one of the nvme slots.

yes mainly interested in Firmware, as few years back many Samsung ssd were bricked after firmware update, and they went into read only modes never recovered

Samsung 980 Pro 2TB with firmware 3B2QGXA7

this one was dying without any warning

However, the new firmware update from Samsung will prevent the failures from occurring in the first place if your drive is still functioning. So, if you have a 980 Pro running the 3B2QGXA7 firmware, you'll want to update to the newest firmware (5B2QGXA7) using the Samsung SSD Magician software ASAP. It should be noted that 980 Pro SSDs running the 4B2QGXA7 or 5B2QGXA7 firmware are not affected by this issue.

Samsung magician is okay, but the challenge is that these OEM drives don't show up on Magician.

This is the crystal info for my personally in use drive 980 Pro

health dropped from 100 to 99 at around 12TB writes
