I have an HP EliteBook 840 G2 running on Windows. I didn't use it much,
8 months ago, I changed the OEM battery because the old one was weak. I started noticing about a month ago that the battery stops charging at 80%, and I thought that was due to the BIOS limiting the charge to 80%.
Last week, the battery wouldn't charge past 16%, and I suddenly noticed the battery going dead. I checked with Power off charging method didn't work. Now, it is at 2% and won't charge higher.
I am going to use the laptop until it reaches 0%. After I change the battery,
I connect it to my monitor and keep it plugged in. This doesn't have bypass charging.
I need assistance to prevent this issue from happening again.
