Amazon India - Feedback Thread

@cranky if you still looking for x570 then the asrock Taichi is now priced at 24999. Ofcourse they will ship in plain brown paper cover, but the product packing is very good, fully protected

I'd like to avoid Appario. No clue how it will reach. Appreciate the info though :)
I had bought the same board 2 years back, it came in brown paper bag, the box and it's internal packing is very sturdy. I think I had posted it's pics somewhere here.
Yea you are right , once bitten twice shy

One saw was of 11k...settled at 10k with all accessories and box nd io shield. I like to get everything what comes with mobo. He had everything with it. Others that were for sale had only mobos not even io shield.

Not sure if this is the right thread for this. If not please move it mods.

I ordered a 5TB Seagate Portable drive from Amazon 2 days ago. I have ordered several of these in the past without issue.

I recd. the delivery about an hour ago. When I opened the box, there was no hard disk inside. Its something that looks like an SSD. I am not sure because its taped/sealed inside the box by someone and I didn't want to pull it out. On the rear, theres a logo marked "Terabyte" . I found a company with the same name here -

Its definitely their product as it has the words "Bringing technology into life" is printed on the product and is mentioned on their website as well.

But they dont make any such product as far as I could tell on their site. For a company that is reportedly setup in 2009, they hardly have any products. The website feels like an empty shell.

Contacted Amazon. They have arranged a return pickup. they said they will give me a refund. Hope they do.

I really wish Amazon would offer an option to open the box and check the item at the time of delivery. I believe FK offer this though it maybe be restricted to certain items only? Any item over 10k should offer this option IMO.

This is the FIRST TIME something like this has happened to me. Very unnerving. Posting this here just to let my fellow TE members know about it. Also to advise you that anytime you buy an item over 10k from Amazon (Or wherever), OPEN IT in the presence of the delivery guy. Even though he may not take it back if its wrong at least you will have some 3rd Party proof of the issue. Ordered another drive. This time I will make sure to OPEN THE BOX at the time of delivery.

What a lousy way to start my day..... :(

This is why I make an unboxing video of all my packages. Just don't wanna get in the hassle of trying to get a refund with a "he said she said" situation where the seller could claim they sent the correct item even if they didn't. Although such videos can be faked they will always side with you if it looks alright (I have heard of them denying refund even for video'ed unboxing just because the product was away for a single frame in the video)

BTW who was the seller?

The seller was Appario Retail - from whom I have bought plenty of items in the past and have never faced an issue. Its the last seller from whom I would have expected this sort of problem.

Thank you for advice on making sure that in future deliveries not only will I record a video but I will make sure the item is always in frame. Wish there was an option of letting the Amazon Delivery agent himself open it while I record the video.

This appears to be a customer return scam, someone bought it, swapped it out with this thing, and initiated a return.

Eventually those people will end up banned, in part due to metrics like yours.

As far as I can tell, there's no way to prevent this from happening and that's because Amazon sometimes adds returned products to the same pile as new products.

You can try and make sure you buy products that are delivered within a day or two, and that one or two day delivery is available for a quantity of the same item. For example, if you're able to get 5 of the exact same item delivered tomorrow by 10pm, then you're more likely to get an unopened product when you buy one.

If only one can be delivered by tomorrow and the rest will come after a few days, I would not place the order even if I need just one.

i cancel a lots of items during shipping, before they are out for delivery.. like if i see good price and is on my watch list i order first , think later.
will this effect my amazon account?
other thing is i have two mousepads in shipping right now and i cant really decide without actually getting my hands on them.. so i will return 1 and keep the one that i like more
and one time i spotted a broken table top from just peeling the cardboard slightly before the delivery guy was unloading it , i rejected the delivery.. sometimes items are below standard
whats the difference for amazon algo? or how i should improve
i remember amazon sending me an email reminder of being careful while ordering.. i also order a lot

I don't know how their algo work but they are more likely to reject your requests if they see you return/refund orders a lot. In extreme cases they may ban you from the platform if they see you as a troublemaker. To improve just go through with all your orders unless you literally receive broken items.

If you keep up this trend, your account will be flagged. Returns/refunds will become much harder. They may even start outright rejecting your refund/return requests.

I rarely ever return any items on Amazon (maybe 1 item in two years). I recently applied for a return+refund for an order where they sent me the wrong brand. The refund was instantly approved, no questions asked, nor did I have to juggle through customer service bots. I was also asked to keep the original item. That's how their algorithm works.

I mean what dkf I'm supposed to say amazon about this.
This was Appiro
There are few items I have received where the serial number is not giving me warranty.. if they don't do something about their quality checks, I will probably stop using them before they restrict me.. it's just because of convenience/ease that we use Amazon but man they can be awfull.
I actually want them to ask me video proof because the stuff stuff I have unpacked is borderline fraud in name of "new" item price they sell for.
