Budget 71-90K Need help with my first custom PC.

I am assembling my first custom PC with a budget of 1 Lakh.
My "ideal" build preference is build 1 with AMD 7700XT but it exceeds my budget by 15k.

Now I am left with two options.
1. GO for a 4060 instead of 7700XT.
2. Switch to a basic Intel based processor with a decent motherboard with 7700XT.

Preference - Gaming. Usually (DOTA, DIABLO, CS, GHOST RECON, SENUA, BLACK DESERT,). Rarely AAA's.

CPU- AMD Ryzen 5 7600x (20K)
GPU- Zotac RTX 4060 Twin Edge 8GB (27K)(Consider DLSS)
Motherboard- MSI B650 Gaming Plus WIFI (DDR5) (17K)
Ram-
Corsair Vengeance 16GB (16GBx1) DDR5 5200MHz (4.4K)
Cooler- Deepcool AK400 CPU Air Cooler (3K)
PSU- MSI MAG A650BN 650 Watt 80 Plus Bronze (4.5K)
Cabinet- Deepcool Matrexx 40 3FS RGB (Black) (4K)
SSD- Western Digital Black SN770 1TB M.2 NVMe Gen4 (6.3K)
Monitor- LG Ultragear 1920x 1080 IPS (24 Inches) (12K)

BUILD 2

CPU- Intel Core I5-12400F (9.2K)
GPU- Sapphire PULSE RX 7700 XT 12GB (42K)
MOBO- ASUS PRIME B760M-A WIFI (DDR5) (15.5K)
RAM- Corsair Vengeance 16GB (16GBx1) DDR5 5200MHz (4.3K)
PSU- MSI MAG A650BN 650 Watt 80 Plus Bronze (4.5K)
SSD-Western Digital Black SN770 1TB M.2 NVMe Gen4(6.3K)
Cooler- Deepcool AK400 CPU Air Cooler (3K)
Cabinet- Deepcool Matrexx 40 3FS RGB (4K)
Monitor- LG Ultragear 1920x 1080 IPS (24 Inches) (12K)


Considering that I will be upgrading in the future should I compromise on the GPU or the CPU+MOBO?
The 7700XT ~42k
VS
6700x+ B650 Mobo ~40k ish.
I am inclined towards considering option 1 with the 4060 since it can run the games that I play pretty decent (DLSS if required) and swap with a better card when I have the budget.

Inputs are appreciated. Also suggest an alternate option for any part you like.

Why are you buying all that hardware and then going for 1080p monitor?
1080 monitor is for 6600 or lower category of cards and buying new 1080p monitor is a huge waste
I have a 6700 which is like a 3060ti and i wish i had a 1440p monitor because except some new aaa games, i can easily get high fps even on a 1440p res .

Get a used 7700XT, it will cost around 33-35k or a new one for about 40k. The 7600 is just as good as the 7600x with a little bit of manual overclocking and then you can also get 27 inch 1440p monitor. In total everything will cost around Rs.1L-1.1L.

PG Lightning has:
- Much smaller VRM heatsink
- No heatsink for the SSD
- Lack of pre-installed I/O Shield
The reason I considered the ones with better heatsink.
Also, I dint come across anyone selling a 7700XT.

The vrm it has good enough for the 7600 as it was also able to handle the 7950x according to hardware unboxed's video and he gave it a pass, another option is getting the Asrock HDV/m.2 and installing a wifi and bluetooth card on it as it has a separate slot for it in total that would cost about 14.5k and it has 3 M.2 slots also the ssd doesn't really get that hot under normal usage and only throttles when you try to throttle it, you can always stick some thermal pads on it. Anyway the HDV is one of the best budget b650 boards but it's only downside is that it lacks wifi which you can install on it seperately, you should definately consider it as well. Also in my previous post I have linked to a used 7700xt selling on zoukart it has a 1 year warranty so you should take a look at that too.

Okay. I will look into the options you mentioned.
Never used any online portal to trade pre-owned GPUs. Heard a lot about scams. So a bit hesitant.

I was considering Linux Mint. Apparently it still has few issues with certain launches, apps, anticheat, compatibility, FPS drops.

Microsoft needs to double down on its anti-privacy updates and Windows 11 shenanigans for considerable percentage of people to switch over to Linux.

If you're going for an Intel 12400 build, get the msi b760m-a wifi. I saw in some video that the ASUS model sucks. + With the ASUS warranty issue, it's better to avoid anything ASUS. Also, if you're going for an AMD build, get the non-x Ryzen CPU. And I know looks are subjective, but I'd get a better cabinet at this price: Mag Forge 120a, 320r, or Galax Rev 6, etc.

Lastly, don't get a new GPU, especially now. I'd recommend getting a used card fn and waiting for RTX 5000 and RX 8000 cards. The ones we have now are a huge disappointment.
 
Try getting used parts, scout olx, FB and whatsapp selling groups. U can find good deals with everything under budget. DM me if need any help.

Is the price drop between consecutive series significant?
6700XT is around 20-23k right now while 7700XT 39-42k.
With the 8 series launching in early Feb 25 i think we got to wait one more year til the price drop is decent.

Personally I dont like to bear the hassle of dealing with pre owned components. Unless it is from a geniune individual and the component is good.
Like someone mentioned a 7700 XT in zoukart for 32k appx. It doesnt have any details, pictures nothing. I wouldn't risk buying such an item ever.
I dont want a negative experience on my first go.

That's for the buyer to do the due diligence before buying.....have bought quite a few stuff used in last 4-5 years after checking thoroughly even if it means i have to wait more.

Umm, no. Where did you get a new 6700 XT for 23k? They’ve been out of stock for a long time. ~20k is the cost for used cards.

6700 XT was priced at around 33k. It is the same series but the 7700XT is miles ahead. And with RTX 4070 priced really high, AMD got away with theirs.

But yeah I agree if you want some good discounts on new cards you have to wait a year. So get a used low end card, sell it after you upgrade next year.

Oh....there was some old stocks sold for lower price on flipkart.....some guy got a 4080 super also on flipkart for 35k something
 
Used 7700XT for 34k is a shit deal when new one is 38-39k. For used GPUs, 3060Ti/3070 for 17/18k & 6700XT for 20k are indeed good value.

That is one lucky guy. Heck, even those who bought 7900XT for 54k from amazon a few weeks back are relatively lucky.
 
I had similar build as #1 last month. From your list.

Get a 2k monitor.

That 650w PSU might not cut it. While it will run just fine. 750w or higher would be better. It's good to have some room.The 7700XT easily takes 235-270w on full load and could go higher.

The 7600x price falls to 18k and 7600 to 16k with CC discount on flipkart, lower than all online retailers. Keep checking their prices regularly. The last price drop was on June 22nd.
