Local-ISP vs BSNL. Which will have better service?

So I live in tier 2 city but unfortunately big ISP brands like airtel, Jio etc are not available here. The Only option i have is BSNL and one local isp (dna networks). Pricing and plans are almost same. But I wanted to get one with good service and customer support. I have talked with the local ISP, whereas I could properly talk with any BSNL customer executive.

Do you have people around who use thie DNA Network? If yes, ask them and see how it is in terms of speed, performance and downtime.
In my building there's just one house that uses wifi, they have jio airfiber. Other than that i don't know anyone using DNA, But I do know people using bsnl in my area. And they say it's decent.

In BSNL Fiber, certain websites like Steam Community and many more are blacklisted, so it's better to stick to a local ISP that offers more flexibility. Using a custom DNS (such as Google DNS or Cloudflare) on your router can help bypass restrictions for many sites. However, some websites might still require a VPN.

BSNL Fiber is reliable for basic needs though. If you want a smoother experience with easy access to websites, you might want to consider a local provider

My relatives stay in tier 2 city. When they were getting internet connection, only local ISPs and BSNL were available.
Local ISP vendor was always available if there are any issues and would take 0-2 days max to fix the issue. Meanwhile neighbor had bsnl, he had to call them and someone will answer and will say they will look into the issue. It will take multiple calls, sometimes even office visits and atleast 2 days usually to fix the issue. This is because it's maintained only through govt job employees but not private vendors.

Otoh, in our tier-1 city, private vendors for bsnl are available and they fix the issue within hours.

So I would suggest talk to your local ISP and see how they respond. Also take prepaid if possible, instead of postpaid, so that you can exit easily if not satisfied.
