It's a bit different, yes, but once you get familiarised a bit, it is pretty straight forward. I think its worth a try.

i purchased BSNL WIMAX device which i still have . They were those proprietary Mikrotik devices - MikroTik SXTsq Lite5
One tab was Google and youtube to check and another tab was the router admin page . BSNL that time was as shit as now so any chnage was a task in itself
So not inclined for Router OS
