Just bought a Samsung flagship phone.
Which one
The box had 'made in India' written on it multiple times. But the only thing in the box which was made in India was the USB-C cable.
It's easy to find out where it is made and this applies for both Samsung & LG products.
It's
coded into the serial number, which you can find by Settings->About Phone
Both my S20FE & S23 are country code ZC from the serial number.
Look at the 2nd & 3rd letters,
ZC or Z8 is the country code for India
C5, 58, FC is Vietnam
3C, 37 is Korea
The second digits tend to fluctuate, the first is more important
Z is India
F is Vietnam
3 is Korea
Country code of my Buds live is FA, so made in Vietnam.

washing machine serials

W- China
B – Mexico

What about
TV serial numbers

Same story with Samsung watch and their buds.
Now you know how to check where they are made and it's known peripherals aren't made in India as yet. But it's only a matter of time because Sammy sells like hotcakes here. These products can be assembled in India as they are in Vietnam.
Written 'made in India' several times on the box. And, they have nothing in the box, which was made in India. Actual products clearly have made in Vietnam labels.
Recheck now that this confusion has been cleared.
It is all about optics and trying to feed into that "Vishwaguru" label.
Heh, really. So the big Samsung factory in Noida is for show then?
F & M series phones are designed at Samsung's Delhi design studio. Likely they're bread & butter series for Samsung in India.
The higher end or S series in Korea and assembled here which is what made in means and this applies worldwide. The parts can be from anywhere.
Also for export. That's what people need to understand. First its make for India and then for the world. Koreans have been here since the 90s and have a headstart over other brands when it comes to make in India. Momentum is only building as the economy continues its consistent unstoppable growth well into the future.
I still don't understand what they get by faking a Made in India label .. they could use a Designed in India label but no.. are folks this gullible ?
Nothing is being faked here.
