71-90K New gaming PC for a golf simulator

Unlike the 7800X3D, which has a single CCD with 8 cores + the 3D V-cache, the 7900 X3D has dual CCDs of 6 + 6 cores, where the 3D V-cache is on only one CCD. This leads to performance loss in games compared to the 7800X3D because games have access to only to 6 cores that have the 3D V-cache.

  • R9 7900 (34k) - Good for its price if you want producticvity as well as gaming

Just going thru the entire thread again to see if I had missed anything and I see you have recommended the R9 7900. I had always thought it was the R9 7900x. Price difference is negligible. Should I go for the 7900x? The x version will be a better CPU right?

From what I read a 7900 with PBO is exactly the same speed and power consumption as the 7900x right?

If they are priced exactly the same which should I get? Will the Lian Li 011 Vision Compact wok with this board?

Or, get the 7900 and run it in that PBO thingie of AMD?

This has to be the sexiest MB that I have ever seen. Can you guys suggest which white fishtank case will be compatible with this? The Lian Li 011 Vision will work?

B850 mobos are in market. For 20k+, check B850 & X670 mobos as well.

Gamers Nexus reviews cases, check what they have reviewed. O11 is a popular choice & even O11 mini can fit an ATX mobo.

Ask other sellers for this mobo maybe:

Planning to go with a back connected white MB and cant find anything other than the b650e stealth. Expensive but looks cool.

Seen his case reviews. He also had good things to say about the Antec ones. Great value as they come with fans.
OK Guys,

Decided that what everyone said here was right regd PSU, so going with a 850w PSU. GPU is my existing 3080ti and the SSD is also an old one.

Rest of the components are as follows. Could someone please confirm that I have not picked stuff which will not work with each other or if I am good to go and place the order?

So, this doesn't apply to the 9800x3d?

Yes, both 7800X3D & 9800X3D have just 1 CCD with 8 cores & this CCD has the 3D V cache. These 2 are recommended even over 7950X3D or 9950X3D because of this (16 core CPUs have 2x 8 core CCDs but just 1 CCD has 3D v cache, AMD has solved most of the scheduling issues though - check updated 7950X3D reviews from 2024).

OK Guys, slight change of plans. Getting back to flight sim also so planning the following

9800x3d
Upgrade to maybe a 4090 or 5080 GPU.

Will a 850w PSU still suffice?

850W will suffice for 5080 but better to buy 5070Ti. It is 1L right now but will drop in prices in a few months for sure (it dropped down from 1.2L to 1L in a week or two, mainly because of 9070XT though).
