Current Affairs Israel attacks Iran.

Ominous warning

These are all deterrence moves so Iran thinks twice about going after any US allies in the Gulf. All those threats are being countered. It's also adding pressure to sign the deal. With the implicit threat of an American bombing of Fordow.

Time to take that summer holiday out in the country

Hah, about time Tucker was called out. Qatar will be asking him for a refund.

Tucker Carlson is the one sane voice when it comes to wars be it is Russia-Ukraine or middle east wars. He even admitted during his time at CNN, Fox he was lying outright on the behalf of the US war machine.

Trump and his family is finished. Trump sons are busy using their whitehouse influence to benefit them financially.

JD Vance will loose 2028, republicans will loose 2026 mid term. Trump is doing the exact opposite of what he promised from deportation to starting new wars.

Guess there is a Epstien client list after all.

^that is Tuckers take and we would be well advised to ignore him on this conflict

^For those who don't follow the right sources

Only if the economy doesn't improve.

I say it will and Vance will make in 2028

Even the Iranians thought Tuckers view was dominant at the WH...

That will keep Iran from attacking the Gulf and broadening war. This was the trope we were fed during Obama's time for why no action could be taken against Iran. Just see how false it was and enabled by the weak leadership of the time.

Israel has since over a decade had the ability to setback Iran's nuclear program. It was the Americans that prevented them until now. Trump is a great leader and history will see him as being a strong force for stability in an inherently unstable part of the world.

People ask what has Israel done for the US. Think about it. If the US enables Israeli dominance of the region it then frees US forces to concentrate on China. That is what Israel has always done for the US.

Making of Bush 2.0? (god told me to attack iraq)

Why are so many Indians cheering for the west. If I have to choose between shia theocracy and american zionists, I would take the shia theocracy any day. How does an american controlled 'democracy' in the neighborhood help India? Isn't Heeramandi enough trouble?

Side note: did we just witness a perfect maneuver in US politics:

1. Trump Elon fallout - end of Trump's most important domestic agenda.
2. Elon is used to remind the public (and Trump) of Trump's shady past.
3. (prob) Someone close to Trump informs him about the consequences of a 'full disclosure'.
4. Israel attacks Iran.
5. Trump changes his tune, becomes a foreign policy president (like every other president in recent past).

I could also add the LA riots in the list. There are powerful people who do not want the president to focus on anything domestic.

A US president talking about evacuating Tehran is bizarre. Doesn't seem to be coming from a sane mind.

Are we in a position to oppose it and more importantly why?

Look, we grew up in an American ordered world. Post WW2, the Americans underwrote the security of Europe, the middle east and the far east. This ushered in the longest period of peace & prosperity the world has ever known.

The life we have become used to depends on the US being the US. Which is the case now under Trump. We don’t need a US that is unsure of itself and indecisive which is exactly what we had under Obama & Biden. That sort of US is a liability for everyone. See Ukraine.

There was a fear that under Trump this would also be the case. So far and fortunately I'm seeing no evidence of an isolationist US, the kind being advocated by people like Tucker Carlson. Such a hands off policy isnt suitable for a middle power like India let alone a global power like the US.

eg. I advocate for India to have levers in every single country we have borders with. That we have the ability to disrupt if needed, the affairs in any of those states. Either you shape your neighbourhood or it shapes you. PERIOD.

Side note: did we just witness a perfect script executed in US politics:

1. Trump Elon fallout - end of Trump's most important domestic agenda.
2. Elon is used to remind the public/Trump of his shady past. A signal to Turmp about how far the deep state is willing to go
3. Israel attacks Iran.
4. Trump changes his tune, becomes a foreign policy president (like every other president in recent past).
There are certain truisms that apply to every leading power. Whether they like it or not. You have no idea how relieved a neocon like me is to see this change.

Why?

Iran was given a choice and a deadline.

Iran chose to ignore it. Play for time because this is just another dumbass US president.

Anyone opposing what Israel or the US is doing is clueless of the dangerous consequences of inaction. This action was due over a decade back but was stifled. Better late than never.

People go on about WW3. Let me make this real simple.

Not acting on Iran enables WW3.

Acting on Iran prevents it

Just like Muslims around the world cheer for other religion people being killed .
Many Hindus have started to do same thing when muslims are killed.
Sad Reality. hatred has taken over sane thinking everywhere.

Shia's are not exactly a great friend of India either. Like I mentioned earlier. That Supreme leaderAyatollah khamenei has openly called India a occupying force in kashmir and enemy of Muslims.

They dont even come out in support of India when 26 Hindus were killed or when India attacked Pak.

They are just partners we have been doing business with.

Maybe with new regime ...Iran may become more stable and we could do business there through our ports and also Chinese influence will become less in that region. Just my theory.

Exactly now think what value will Pakistan have with the west if the west can now work with Iran :D

This so called location of Pakistan I keep hearing off goes for a toss isn't it.

So this move on Iran is bad for Pakistan. In my earlier post, explained also why bad for China.

What are you still confused?

We also have to acknowledge the Russian factor when it comes to ending the WW2 and European imperialism . Without Russia , Europe would not have left Asia and Africa to a large extent .

How can Iran as a nation be expected to the toe the American line ? Years of sanctions have not broken them down . The American military drill the other day does not give any confidence at all . The soldiers were walking like people walk in a gay parade .

That is true and not acknowledged by the west. The Russians broke the back of the German army.
and European imperialism . Without Russia , Europe would not have left Asia and Africa to a large extent .
Ending imperialism is thanks to FDR. Any aid to recover after WW2 was conditioned on the Euros granting independence to former colonies.

Time will tell. Is the regime as weak as it looks right now? What will it take.

The Iranians could easily say yeah ok, we won't make a nuke. Whilst continuing covertly. That would save the regime.

Trump is looking for a deal not regime change like the Israelis.

People at the top normally paint a positive picture of the future while the lower ranks do the dirty work. The iraq war's code-name was 'Operation Iraq Freedom'.

This is the mistake many Indian leaders are making with POK/GB. Instead of taking talking about 'capture' of GB, they should talk about 'liberating' it.

It is the Sanghi idiots and It cell coolies who have no idea of what a multi polar world looks like and works like . They extrapolate domestic problems onto the international stage and do mass hysteria type of posts . Of course one cannot rule out the possibility of cronies sponsored interests .

On the better side , I think guys who are looking to get married to take a trip to Iran , Israel after the war is over . In India finding a girl to get married is becoming an impossible task , especially with girls having more education and expectations than guys . Let the countries fight and once they are done , there would be a lot of surplus females of marriageable age . One can probably find a Nora Fathehi for peanuts .

And Iraq was a success. Iraqi shias (majority) and Kurds are no longer under the boot.

Iraq will not in our lifetime be a threat to it's southern neighbours.

That could well be on the cards. I've heard commentators advocating for elections for PO J&K. Whether it's the right time or not
is upto the government

Taking is a bad idea. They have to want to join otherwise it's not feasible and easily counter productive.

Pakistan will never have any value at any point of time . It is like a b**ch . Use when you want to . Pakistan is 1 country where the politics is decided not in Pakistan but by the West . A regime change can happen without too much interference and a little bit of those green backs . Iran has more respect at this point since they are more respectable and self sufficient and have ideology and a stable government .

If India declares war on Pakistan , US or the West will have to scoot and they would not even come near . A few centuries back we had India and we had kingdoms and fifedoms in different parts of India . As an united force we are the Bahubhalis of Asia .
Contrary to the point of China helping Pakistan , the logistics of operating will not work out for Chinese over Ice and If the Chinese go over board then Tibet as a nation could be the reality China will have to deal with .

We are not. But a more realistic assessment would definitely help.
I don't see why we would want to oppose in the first place.

How are we losing if Iran tilts west?

The Gulf is an American ally. We have most of our diaspora there and they won't stop showering Modi with awards every time he visits the region.

What the Americans are doing there since the 70s is what the British Indian army did for 150 years up to WW2. Provide security from the Suez to Singapore. Until these Gulf countries came into being it was Indian currency that circulated there. That era's equivalent of today's dollar.
