Which internet service do you use? If you narrow you server selection down to those Asian servers like Singapore, Thailand, etc., you'll get pings of 60-100 on Airtel and ACT.

Vodafone doesn't really have it's own 3g network in Bangalore. It relies on Airtel's 3g network. I've never used a data card, but if there is the option, try changing the networks settings to accept only 3g signal (you won't get it everywhere though). That's how I use it on my phone.

We don't see many discounts on Origin right? In the US, they had some things going on in November and December; but I didn't see them when I logged in then. Personally, I'm waiting for crysis 2 to be heavily discounted and for any discount on Bf3:Armoured Kill.

Yes, best to keep hw expenses low now. By next year, the new console generation would start and most midrange pcs would have to be fully upgraded anyway in order to stay ahead.

These kind of games... you can just take your time and keep on playing. I played one game in Civ 5 and it took me about 50 hours, and that was on normal, with all victory conditions enabled.
