a simple reply wud b tht core2duo is da best cpu existing. though pentiumd is also dual core but it is no match near core2duo(due 2 overheat problem). my advise wud be core2duo > amd x2 > pentiumd. Dont go by clock speed, 1.83GHz core2duo perform much better than 3GHz pentiumD
