as mentioned earlier sometimes one wants to do it manually. also using the command line displays some useful info.

I know Windows does it at a schedule you set. Sometimes you need to do it manually. My program makes it easier, that's all. Edit : Github is too much work ;-)

I just got a MX500 and was playing around with Crucial Storage Executive. I noticed this (see pic). Does that mean over provisioning is not active yet ? Do I need to (and should I) turn it on ? I thought that "on" would be the default.

Yes. that is the one. I like WinFR so I made a simple GUI using AutoHotKey. If anyone wants it let me know. But you will have to get the winfr.exe file yourself (MS prohibits distribution).

I think they have a utility to do that. When I'm home I'll check my drive. I'm 90% sure. In the mean while search 'secure delete'.
