Sounds like a corruption of the boot record table, since the BIOS is detecting the drive. Was the drive on FAT32 file-system or NTFS? if you can access the RAW format disc via Partition Manager sw, try this Access your disc via a Partition manager software like Paragon Partition manager...

well, the game decided to crash my whole OS this time. am consistently getting BSoD whenever i try to boot up windows :( I do face similar problems while playing older games though. my monitor just blacks out and refuses to recognize any input? am i doing the Catalyst control settings wrong?

@Praks the USB is disabled so you can't access your HDD via a PC. Also, the HDD content itself is encrypted with the NDS middleware CA system, so you can't view the stored videos even if you physically disconnect the HDD from the PVR and connet it to a PC directly. So, nope :)
