I am able to open those DVDs on my sony external DVD writer. But on the laptop it refuses to be opened.

Hi, I tried that test and when I change the balance to extreme right the sound stops coming from either speakers and when I change it to extreme left, the sound comes as before as in no difference. I changed the balance in Winamp. What does this result signify ??
