    Spot on! Ultimately Iems contribute the biggest chunk to SQ. Any decent player would do. To make out the finer nuances between various good players would require pretty highly resolving(and in most cases, quite expensive) iems.

    Mutant, Try something from Xears, like xb120. Or you could order the new Brainwavz Beta from Mp4nation. Please read up on the M6.Some find the fit not comfy and also the treble to be harsh.

    You can get the newer Soundmagic E30, that would be even better. Be it pl30 or its newer version e30, they dont really need amping. And yes, they would sound good with a good music phone like the xpress music series.

    Sunnyboi, my experience is also the same. Clip+, Samsung Galaxy s etc are more than enough to drive the ad700s to very loud levels. Is the ad300 less sensitive?

    bacilus, if you can purchase used from intl markets like headfi classifieds, you could look at gr07, sony ex600, re 252, Phonak PFE or one of the ety's like hf2. A brand new mc5 would also be in your budget I guess.

    Compaddict, Those three I suggested are in the order of the price brackets you mentioned. The Xears for 20 something Euros, M1 for 1950Rs, PR401 for around 70$.
