Mate i have seen poeple using Q6600 65nm Quad with 3 HDD,ATi 4870,4GB ddr2 with Vx450 without any fuss.i myself using GTX260 216 gpu along with tri core cpu.

I completely agree with few people who suggesting for 4770 40nm.for 19" 4770 is more then enuf it will play most of the games without any fuss.

With 15k budget get either Nvidia 275 Or Ati 4890

Afaik all AMD motherboard support Dual channel mode and not tri channel,So get yourself 2x2 GB dual channel kit.

I have been using Palit 260 216Sp since last 2-3 month's and at idle temp is around 45*C where as at full load i have not seen it go past 60*C with fan speed to 60%.

GTS250 & HD4850 are slightly better than 4770 but then its consumes less power and less heat.i would suggest you to go with 4770 it will work fine with your current rig.
