Buffalo routers, which one is better?

Actually, I had the opposite experience when flashing the WHR-HP-125. In the middle of the dd-wrt flash, there was a power cut and I thought for sure I'd bricked it. But I managed to reset and load dd-wrt on it. The WHR-G125 flash went over smooth and easy.

Buffalo routers, which one is better?

The WHR-HP-G54 is the higher power version; go for it if you need greater range. The WHR-125 is newer and I think it's got a speedier processor. I have both. They're flashed with dd-wrt and have been rock solid (running 24/7 the past year with no crashes). The WHR-HP-G54 is pulling in a...

PC Peripherals Question regarding ordering PSU through US

Actually, PSUs nowadays are either autoranging (i.e. 100-240V) or have a 110-220V toggle switch, but it wouldn't hurt to check. I picked up a Seasonic micro-atx 300W in the U.S. to replace the junk PS that came with my i-ball baby case and it works like a charm.

Help decide what to import from Scythe

Perhaps you should set up a poll and see what products garner the greatest attention. One more idea would be to search for Scythe on the Newegg web page and order the results in terms of popularity or reviews; it would give you an idea of what Scythe products are in demand. I have a Scythe...

    Europe Travel: Voltage Converter Necessary?

I think the voltage part of it will be OK, unless you're carrying a 110V only charger. For the plugs, the ones in India will work in France and Belgium but you will need to pick up the flat pin socket converter (costs about 25 bucks at any of the local electronics ghetto shop).

    CPU/Mobo Need a cool 780G chippy mobo...HELP!!

The buzz for HTPC these days is about the Intel G45 mini-itx motherboard. People are choosing it over the 780G because it does 7.1 channel LPCM over HDMI while the 780G does only stereo. However, there are certain issues regarding smooth Blu-Ray playback which are still being ironed out, so...

PC Peripherals Importing a specific motherboard

I do the same too or have a friend/relative carry stuff for me; this time it was an "emergency", which is why I asked the question. The customs guys have never hassled me about any of my techie stuff (at least in Bangalore).

how to upscale from 480p to 720p/1080p on PC

I use the K-Lite media codec pack which comes with media player classic (MPC) which, AFAIK, will play your DVD's too. MPC is very powerful in it's capabilities and scales the input very well to your monitor native resolution. Best of all, the whole package is free.

PC Peripherals Importing a specific motherboard

I need the following mini-itx board for a special app. AFAIK, no one carries this board in India but a guy in Hong Kong is willing to ship one out for me by air-mail and to also under-invoice from it's $200 price. My question is about customs. How easy or difficult is it to go through customs...

Firefox problem - not remembering passwords

These are the passwords firefox saves. Sites like Yahoo store their passwords in cookies and don't "allow" firefox to save them (Correct me if I'm wrong). If I clear the cookies, I lose these passwords. This is a laborious process if there are a lot of cookies; I'm looking for a permanent lock...

Firefox problem - not remembering passwords

Is there a way to hardwire certain cookies so that they are not erased even when I clear the cache? For example, now I lose my yahoo (and a couple of other passwords) when I clear the cache and have to retype them. I don't want this to happen.

PC Peripherals Query for Samsung ML 1610 Laser Printer

LOL! I actually did it myself on a cartridge for a ML-1210. I got this kit from the U.S. which included a soldering iron with a 1 cm or so round attachment which burned a hole in the cartridge. You poured the ink powder through this hole and sealed it with a supplied sticker. Despite all the...

Storage Solutions Help me build a PC without any internal Hard Disk

I didn't want a permanent optical drive in my low power consumption box so I did exactly that. I used one of these integrated cables (since I didn't want an external USB/e-Sata drive that also depends on another power source). Now on the rare occasion that I use the optical drive, I just...
