3D printing side hustle

Hey folks,

Been thinking about 3D printing as a side business for some time and wanted to give this a shot.

This would really be my first time doing any kind of business where I need to “ship” a physical item. I have no idea about how to pack something like this properly, what to expect etc. To learn about this, I was thinking of trying out prints for some forum members here.

Here’s my plan

  • 1 print a week (don’t have sorted out logistics)
    • Will be a public thread for people who want things printed, if more than a single person demand, do a raffle/queuing
  • Do only small prints <30gm to start with
  • No payment for the filament costs
  • Share up-close photos of the item post-print
  • Buyer pays only for shipping

If someone is really really sad/mad at me about how I gave them a “bad” print, just refund them and let them be at peace.

I already have a printer, it’s not the fastest but it gets the job done. Might lose some money but let’s see.

Thoughts ?

Opinions ?

Anything against the rules here ?

@slippery is already providing this service here on TE. Maybe he will be able to guide you better. Even @Pauljacob can help you with this, he also provides this service.
