New Desktop build. Giga B850 Gaming X WiFi 6E. After a few days the Ethernet link speed is locked at 10/10.. anyone else faced this issue?
I have tried everything - chaging adapter settings, reinstalling all drivers, CMOS clear (suggested by Giga esupport). Do you think this is a hardware issue and I should start the RMA process?
Do you have a yellow icon in device manager? You can try downloading drivers directly from Realtek’s website.
There’s a few methods you can try with device manager. Uninstall from device manager, rescan. Or uninstall from device manager and reboot. Or uninstall from device manager and then run the Realtek driver installer. Or update driver from device manager by manually selecting the downloaded driver. You’ll need to see which way works, windows is finicky about drivers. All four of these methods do different things.
Have you tried manually setting speed/duplex? Sometimes changing it manually and then back to auto negotiation helps.
All of this is assuming there’s no problem with your cable or the ethernet device on the other end of the cable.
No yelloe icon. I have tried all these settings but to no avail - including changing cables and router port. Same cable + router port shows 1Gbps link speed on laptop
Yes it will rule out windows related issue. Nowadays many ppl use “debloating/optimizing/privacyadd/miniWindowsISO” etc scripts & tools on windows 10/11 which can break stuff in many weird ways.
