The new facility of Micron — one of the world’s largest semiconductor companies — will enable assembly and test manufacturing for both DRAM (dynamic random access memory) and NAND(a type of flash memory technology used in storage devices) products aiming to address demand from domestic and international markets. The ATMP facility will also manufacture Solid State Drive (SSD) storage devices. The semiconductor company has invested Rs 22,516 crore in Sanand.
It will be good enough if prices come down to even mid 2025 levels, forget about going back to 2024 levels.
This isn’t changing anything anytime soon unfortunately, couple of years are still gonna be tough
Meh .. they clearly indicate what kind of “demand” they are catering to.
Besides it’s assembly and not even a fab. As usual a clickbait heading.
Indian prices were already in line with global prices, import taxes/duties were never a problem with RAM, so doubt this would change much.
Also another thing, the price companies charge is never cost+margin. Only small mom-and-pop business operate this way. The price is always what you are willing to pay. And that has been determined in the market.
Micron? The same Micron that owns Crucial, and exited the consumer SSD and RAM markets? What makes you think this facitility will at all impact consumer pricing, since they’re not going to sell anything to consumers anyway?
