Games: NOLF Startup error

Hi,
i just installed NOLF on a fresh installation.
Min Specs for Game :

MINIMUM SYSTEM REQUIREMENTS:

**MEMORY:**64Mb RAM

**HARD DRIVE SPACE:**400MB free hard drive space

**VIDEO:**8 MB 3D accellerator card with Direct3D support; DirectX® 7.0 or higher.

**AUDIO:**DirectX® compatable 16-bit sound card

**MULTIPLAYER:**56k modem or LAN for multiplayer only

**MOUSE / KEYBOARD:**Required for play.
MY SYSTEM:

**OPERATING SYSTEM:**Microsoft® Windows® 2000

**CPU:**Pentium® 4 1.8Ghz

**MEMORY:**256Mb RAM

**HARD DRIVE SPACE:**More than 60 GB free

**CD-ROM SPEED:**48x CD-ROM

**VIDEO:**Pro Savage DDR (Onboard GFX Card 32MB Shared),Direct X 9c Redistributable

**AUDIO:**DirectX® compatable 16-bit sound card

**MOUSE / KEYBOARD:**Have one of each.

I see the Splash screen and then the app returns to desktop with that error.

Also, as per the readme, it says that setting the color to 16 bit and above should rectify this problem. But, no use, i tried resolution change…640x480,800x600(current) and 1024x768 with all possible refresh rates on my monitor and all possible color combos.

No use, same error each time.
Anyone here who can help with the same, thanks.

Incorrect Installation. Try re-installing it…

Hi Aces…reinstalled it 2 times now…without any installation failure message.
And one fresh installation with complete uninstallation also.

Try running it in Windows95/98 compatible mode..

I dont think Windows 2k has a windows 9/98 compatible mode.

Any other suggestions?

You do have it in Win2k Pro. There is a file slayerui.dll in C:\Winnt\AppPatch folder. Just run regsvr32 slayerui.dll to register it and then you will find the compatibility tab on your shortcuts.

hmmm…thanks, i wasnt aware of this.

Anyways, it didnt work. It still gives the same error.

@XT: have u tried installing the latest patch(or last updated patch) for NOLF ?

Yes, did that too…if u note, in the screenshot..i have the NOLF site open also;)
am Not asking everyone to see the screenshot closely and scrutinize…but yes, i have the latest patch installed.
