Get Rid of Crap in Windows 11

A popular one, in case anyone is looking

That developer is notorious of dropping development of an app on the drop of a hat and move to other stuff. The number of repositories is a testament. I would stick to stuff which sees committed development and bug fixes.

CTT broke too many things irreversibly for me in the past. Also, haven’t seen any benefits from disabling too many things as it doesn’t improve performance natively apart from temporarily indicating lower resource usage.

Just use Win AeroTweaker to switch off all the annoyances and you are good.

There is a typo in the Title. It has an extra ‘in’

I tried CTT 2-3 years ago, it broke few things and multiple games refused to run. Had to reinstall Windows.

Before that, I remember using O&O Shut Up 10 and never had any problems with that.

There isn’t much point in fighting microsoft over windows 11 nowadays. Just use whatever option MS itself gave in GUI or via group policy editor & call it a day or move to Education version (less intrusive & less aggressive than pro & as per some even enterprise version) or even LTSC version. Best option would be to move to Linux especially if all the games you play are available on steam platform & the graphics card drivers work properly on linux & keep windows just for some windows exclusive software/game stuff.

With age, I have realised that I have less and less time for researching, experimenting and trying out something new so instead I have decided to sell my soul to Bill Gates. :stuck_out_tongue:

I just did this and reinstalled my Windows 11.

One day when you face some weird issue then don’t try to solve it & instead reinstall windows because that’s what it takes to solve such weird issues on such “customized debloated windows” installs.

These scripts are made by Chris Titus and some indians. So I installed them and now some 130 processes are running instead of 200+.

Many times uninstalling manually is good. I remember debloated brave using chris titus utility to remove that vpn, wallet etc

So what it did, it tweaked it using brave’s group policy, now when I needed to do something on brave

It showed your browser is maintained by your organization. Need to do Google search & found solution on brave community forum. :joy:

Doesn’t matter. Sooner or later, you will face some weird issue especially as you play games. Just think logically, if Microsoft with all its billion dollar budget & army of employees cannot make windows 11 bug free then what chance a few dozen or even few hundred individuals working for free have modifying windows 11 to make it run smoothly without issues.

I am not using anything, just had my Win11 made using rufus to get rid of mandatory MS account so that folders like Docs & Pics don’t save in Onedrive by default. Heard of game issues with such tools, have Game Pass sub, so not planning to breaking anything.

This is probably the most linuxy way to debloat windows:

I haven’t tried it myself as I don’t have any issues related to windows slowing down, but have heard good things about the playbook.

This is actually wayyy better than anything , you dont even need to install it , i have been cleaning my friend’s pcs and laptops with this and it have literally saved their old devices , even made thier new ones wayy better

does this fix the horrible search option? i hate it when it starts searching bing when i search for a file

I miss my windows 7 :frowning:

Don’t know about Win 11 LTSC, but win 10 LTSC has most of their shitware removed. Not realy inclined to try win 11 anytime soon.

They fired QA employees, and basically have enshittified windows - for shareholder value ! All these companies are going the same route.
