No need to be snide. Its upto him if he wants to sell it at that price. Its a two year old machine and I would be paying full cash upfront with no shipping headache.

Damn dude, full cash. I wonder how others pay, is paying via UPI looked down upon now, lol.
Don’t make this olx, keep your offers to PM and have decency to accept criticism.

Well, If the seller wanted me to PM an offer I would’ve, the buyer rules don’t mandate me sending them a PM. Whats up with this virtue signaling?

have decency to accept criticism

What part of my reply was indecent to you?

He is saying you can’t lowball on the thread since it is not OLX, just DM the OP man, it’s really not that hard to understand.

I personally prefer TE over OLX because we typically don’t encounter such offers on TE. The sanctity of the TE marketplace is affected when these kinds of offers appear publicly. If you look at platforms like Reddit, the TE marketplace is held in high regard—and I believe one of the key reasons is the mutual respect that members show toward each other.

Of course maybe you are following rules, but it really stresses out the seller seeing such lowball offers.

Thanks for the sane reply and not being condescending. I’m new to TE and this would be my first buy so I’m naturally more disposed to being cautious. If they cared enough to look at the seller profile - they would know its a new profile with a single rating so far. I will delete my offer.

Cool. Just use DM’s to make offers. Don’t post them publicly.

I don’t think anyone was condescending to you. If you are going to make an outrageous lowball offer, people will offer you comments in the same regard. If you expect to be treated with respect, do the same to the sellers too. If I were the seller, I’d be offended by such an offer just like you got offended by its criticism. It’s a two-way street, after all.

  1. His profile looks like a reseller. Thats why I was disposed to haggling.
  2. Like I said, its a new profile. He comes online only to sell his stuff.
  3. I got the gist - I will PM my offers. It would be better if it was in the buyer rules or something.

Making a reasonable offer isn’t disrespecting anyone. I’m sorry that you feel that way.

  1. Just because it’s a reseller acc, doesn’t mean forum etiquette can be done away with.
  2. See above.
  3. Thank you. It’s too much to expect that rules will include being courteous too.

Quit while you are ahead, my guy. You’re new here, other people have already offered their opinions. Just understand the difference between OLX like sites and this marketplace. I’m sorry you feel the need to be explained this so many times. Nothing much to argue here. I am out.

While you seem to have a deep lack of accountability and don’t think you are being disrespectful, people like you are kind of the reason those memes show up. The memes where people offer 50 dollars for a 700 dollar macbook. And then the seller sends buyer to a comedy club for face to face deal, where seller doesn’t show up, and tells buyer to go on the comedy stage and tell his jokes to someone else. Actions have consequences you know, it is a two way street. Just do better next time, it’s really not a problem. None of us are really offended in any way, you are the only one here sensing invisible condescending tone from us but that too is because of lack of accountability on your own part, it’s all good.

And just for your information, you cannot add the word “reasonable” to just anything, like for example a 50% discount lowball and then call it a day after that, taking no responsibility for your actions and hope for no repercussions for that.

Good day to you. Those were my last words, I’m also out.
