JioFiber vs Airtel Xtreme

I had the same issue with truenas was getting random ssh requests all ipv6

Disabled the service

Disabled IPv6 in truenas or jio router?

Disabled ssh service in truenas

Both do not allow custom routers without multiple calls to their higher ups. If going with Airtel XStream try to get the Nokia ONT from them.

I have not stored the logs but from what I can remember those were from ipv4 only

But both jio & airtel use CGNAT for ipv4 unless having a static ip (airtel only) so how is it possible for any request from outside to reach any IP behind CGNAT.

I’ll switch on ssh service and upload a log of denied entry what do you say

That would be great. Really curious to understand how such requests could successfully reach your nas behind CGNAT on IPv4.

turned on ssh on 2 trunas instances awaiting ssh attempts

So you’re saying with enough escalation it’s possible to replace their router

Have you done this before?

I have not done this before.
I know this as I had seen someone that I know follow this, and when I asked, in a gist, mentioned what I have written above.

Does anybody know how can I save on my JioFiber 999 prepaid plan(since it is used only by my parents). Does SBI give cashback on the payments through SBI Cashback Card? and would i get cashback with Airtel card on new Xstream fiber connection?

SBI cashback card doesn’t give cashback on utility payments which jiofiber should ideally come under. Axis Airtel card give cb on any airtel service related payment done on airtel thanks app subject to monthly cb limits.

I have jio-Airfiber & airtel-airfiber. Both work fine. But if you are looking for gaming I would suggest getting jio. Personal experience - I get loss in airtel. Although if you are going fiber that might not be the case.

Jio AirFiber has 1tb monthly fup? Isn’t that a bit restrictive?

I do a lot of downloads. And I’m yet to reach that limit. For just casual gaming, binging and surfing it does the job. I live in a remote location(no fiber access). I would have gone for a full fiber connection if that was possible. But I’m quiet surprised at the latency and download speeds, even during bad weather conditions.

So, it’s not enforced?

Airfiber is anyways not at all reliable. latency is the biggest con

I cannot confirm on this as I’ve never breached the limit.

I’m currently using Jio-Airfiber. And I live 30km from the city. My voteID says rural india. And I can vouch that I get less than 70ms ping and almost 0% loss(sometimes 1-2% loss) while playing dota2 on SEA server. Almost no buffering in youtube or netflix. But yeah, there are instances where the ping spiked, but it would immediately be back to normal in 10-15 sec.
