@techcheat : thanks for ur responce , but dont u think it will be a bit of “overbudget”? for me ? i mean i would end up spending the amount jus on the 3 factors !..but wat config. u suggested sounds amazing…please feed in more coments…
RAM can always be added later, instead now invest on a better Motherboard / CPU.
My suggestion:
Intel Core2Duo E6300 → Rs. 8500/-
Gigabyte GA-965G-DS3 Motherboard → Rs. 9500/-
1GB Corsair Value 667 MHz DDR2 RAM → Rs. 5000/-
Antec / Cooler Master 550W SMPS → Rs. 5000/-
Don’t invest on a Graphics Card now, because at the most you can spend Rs. 6k on it, instead wait for some time and get a good decent Graphics Card for you, probably a Direct X 10 compatible.
@ all : thank u very much to all for ur replies…really appreciate the same…
now let me make the matter a lil bit worst for u …now i know wat 25k can “really” get me in the “top” notch…now lets “SMUDGE” in somethings…
25k !..including mbb+processor+dvdwriter+ram+cabinet+psu+hdd…lets roll !!..i know that the cab + Psu will be basic..but lets jus roll it at the basic level for now
If you were to ask me i could tell you if you intend even for games a fast proccy will give you an advantage that is negligible. what matters is a good graphics card . why do you think even the ps3 arearmed with processors with a power of a pentium 3 800 Mhz . so you easily go for a budget amd 64 or an x2 and a mobo and a nice graphics card and a Gb of ram with plenty of money left for a decent psu cabby and a dvd writer . this should more than suffice any application you run .
I would say otherwise, a processor now a days makes a huge diff, think it of this way, gfx card you can always upgrade later, but how many times do you upgrade mobo+proccy. And PS3 have cell processors whose computing power is way beyond current generation CPU’s , and an AMD X2 is way too overpriced for its performance.
But yeah, get atleast an E6300 and 1gb RAM 667 mhz, for gfx card get a cheap 7300 GT if you can find that within 4k. You can always upgrade the gfx card laters.
Also dont save on PSU, get a Powersafe atleast, cheap PSU’s means a lot of prolems afterwards, trust me on that.
a core duo is no doubt the best option . i dont disagree but for a 20 ~25 K budget and 25 is streching it . i know where is he coming from and he wants a complete pc in 20 K and a amd 64 should fit this config nicely .
I personally use a 2800+ 64 754 and a cheap ass mobo K8S-MX
and a 6600 GT card i could play games quite well , upto NFS most wanted . sure not ultra high super duper ass hair detail , but good enough , but then again i am not an avid gamer .
Processor technology keeps on improving . Everyone thought the E6600 kicked ass untill the E6700 came out and we see a flurry of them up for sale .
so think what u use , what u may use , you may realise that even a sempron could do for you with you saving more than 10 K in the deal . maybe splurge the extra money left on a kickass Zen vision M or an ipod video or etc etc witha couple of extra grands.
I dont have much idea about prices , so ill leave that to the other kool people here .
^^ In 20k I guess he has no other option other than A64 3000+ and Asus n6150 mobo. Get the AM2 version atleast, as DDR2 is gonna get cheaper, whereas DDR 1 is gonna get expensive.
