Portable Power Station Discussion

Thought I will ask if any member here have been using such portable power stations and if they can share their experience.

There are days when I do get 1 or 2 days or continuous no electricity.
Something can power my water kettle( 1400w) for 5 -10 mins to be nice but should be portable and easy to carry around.

I know that is asking for too much from a small device.

But in anycase even if someone can share there experiences with Powerbanks over or about 40000mah would be interesting to know.

Usually in India I think only Ambrane and Callmate has over 40000 mah powerbank but many seem to complain its quality is poor.

Do share your experience if you have owned them and used them and also if you have some suggestion of portable power stations for me .

Following. I have similar requirements.

Do you have access to a car in these situations? Get a automotive inverter, wire it up, turn ON your car, run extension to where ever you need, and you have 220V AC.

Here are some you can look depending upon wattage you need.

No Sir, no access to car.

There is this cute little portable generator from Honda - Honda EU2200i

It can definately run your load of 1400W.

(1400W is serious power)

But the problem is that it only gives out 120V AC, at 120V your computers, phone chargers and stuff will run fine. Resistive loads like your kettle will also run but may take double time.

Also needs E10 fuel, sad. :expressionless_face:

If your need is only for kettle then why don’t you get a lower wattage one. That way you will have more options to choose from.

And if you need that extra wattage then this is certainly a very pricey option. It can handle upto 1800w.

its not clear. Are you stationary but have power disruptions or will you be mobile in an area without power but no access to something like a car ?

Both of them are very different situations and need different solutions.

A quality car kettle (not the cheap chineese ones available on Amazon) that runs on 12v should also be good enough, if 12v is readily available.

I’ve almost got this one for a long road-trip with an infant before the travel plans changed.

Was looking at some such recently due to a possibility of a long disruption, but that situation went away and didn’t go forward with the idea. However, I am interested to know about this category of products. Have they caught-on in India? How reliable, cost-effective, lasting are these?

Kettle may just be an example, but I’ve replaced kettles with tiny immersion rods : Small Wonder Heat Hub, The Ultimate Electric Mini Heater for Coffee, Tea, Soup, Water, and Milk. : Amazon.in: Home & Kitchen

These are far cheaper in local shops, and the freedom to put in any utensil is great. Sorry if offtopic.

Edit : forgot the wattage: typically they take 200 W, and my old kettle was rated for 750 W.

need for both. Stationary as well as something I can carry with myself during travels. something in size like i mention in opening post.

My need is basically like a powerbank would do…recharge my mobile phones and laptop quite a few times and power a water kettle for me.

but I understand water kettle is asking for too much for such small portable stuff.

and I like the idea @kiran6680 shared about buying a small immersion rod. good idea too.

However i can also use my camping gas stoves to heat up water if needed that badly.

BTW guys …is there any powerbank that can have that be charged through outlet and at same time continue to charge my mobile phone too. like pass through thing.

I know you would say why not just use a different point outlet for charging your phone.

But if anyone is using that kind of powerbank do share your experience too

EF Ecoflow (River 2 or 3 ) - yet it technically not a power bank but a power station

Urban has launched Camping portable powerbanks in India. Looks interesting and price seems decent. ( little on higher side) but still okay.

Will try to wait for reviews.

Problem solved. Ordered.
Lowest price it seems on Price tracker.
