Setup GPON terminal

How to setup GPON terminal? I have a Asus AX3000 Router that I want to use for my JIO fiber connection. I have came across some post in this forum and also YouTube. there is no rigid answers on the process and what hardware works with what ? Ideally I want something that can work with my router and any service provider ( jio/airtel if I switch it up in future.)

Edit: Also, what are the creds that are used in GPON terminal. Could someone please help me where can I get them?

Have u enabled bridge mode ?
I am really not sure about Jio, for Airtel u just had to replace the Serial number and it worked..

There’s a guide on this forum for Jio and Airtel. For Jio, you won’t need PPPoE credentials, just your GPON S/N on the ONT, Mac Address clone on the router. VLAN is 1015 in most cases.

Edit: VSOL 2802 is typically recommended. TP Link XZ000 G3 also works in most cases.

where can I buy VSOL 2802 ? any legit buy links ?

Not usually available, but paulj imports sometimes. He may also have a website but I don’t have a link handy. Also, there’s a group buy going on right now, so you might get a few on marketplace here in a few days. Also, please do your research before you buy. You cannot blindly trust any advice from anyone. Also, what is currently working now with these ISPs, may not be working/allowed in the future. Just setting expectations, before you go down this rabbit hole. Also, the TP Link one is cheaper (it’s also much older, and might have some issues) , and sold in legit online web stores.

Heya, i want one but I can’t reply on that thread. how can we move forward?

price is 2500 will add you group buy if you want to buy. i think only 1 or 2 xpon is left.

I remembered that I used to have both Jio and an ASUS router. IPv4 on Jio is CGNAT, so it makes no impact if you put your ASUS router behind the Jio router - without bridge mode. IPv6 works in Passthrough mode, for WAN connection only (doesnt work if u have multiple ISPs in loadbalancing/failover mode.

I kinda did the same thing - disable DHCP on jio and just connected the Asus to jio router. works good until there is a power outage (which has become very common these days)

what I think was happening is the Asus router starts really fast and jio router is not even turned ON yet but wifi network is available with no internet.

The fix for this issue was to start the jio router then start the Asus router and everything works as expected. I got fed up doing this every time and want to put full stop by adding GPON terminal.

I hope I made sense. Thank you.

Please add me to the group, I will take one. Thank you very much.

Can’t say I have experienced that issue. I usually connect the networking stuff to inverter, so I rarely see a downtime.
