Solution to dusty electronics and electrical appliances

I have gaming pc, ups and inverter and battery. They all get dusty often. Need something to clean them once a month. The regular dust blower, although I don’t own one, will only spread the dust and then again it will settle down. So I am looking for a vaccum cleaner, which works for small corners inside pc case or inside of inverters without opening it.
Also will use it to clean other things too ceiling, pedestal fans, table and sometimes floor too.

I am lazy so I will do only once a month.

Please recommend some suggestions.

A suggestion that nobody asked for,

Get an Air Purifier and close the windows.

It’s easier to clean the filters than to clean your computer or lungs.

Unfortunately my house doesn’t really have any windows, and have ventilator in all the rooms. Although it’s not delhi, but due to rural infra, it’s nearly impossible for me to stop the dust coming in.

I am on lookout for something similar too. its impossible to keep pc dust free even for a day in Gurgaon and I’d much rather use it than clean it all the time.

Air purifier + close door and windows + Vaccum cleaner + Dust filters on case through intake fans + more intake fan flow vs exhaust + less aggressive case fan curve when usage is low + leaf blower to clean up dust few times a year.

After all this dust accumulation has reduced. I keep windows closed most of the time but they do have small gaps through which plenty of dust somehow gets in.

Bonus - If humidity is high, then need dehumidifier too to avoid rusting/oxidation. Also dont dry clothes within closed room, it can increase humidity a lot. Still, my old 1050 lasted 5.5 years of neglect and dust/humidity abuse.

Opened it up once it died and there was lots of oxidation damage i think.

Note if humidity is very low, say below 40%, i think using blowers on electronics can do static electricity damage. Dunno, look it up. I avoid it in peak winters, else mumbai is very humid so its not an issue for me.

Get a vacuum cleaner and be at peace! No blowing of bad air and dust around. Blower is like spreading the dust in your room or the entire house ANd let everyone suffocoate and suffer with allergies and cold and other respiratory issues.

I hate blowers as the concept doesn’t fit for in-house/flat setups but only if you could take the stuff way away from your house to get the job done neat and clean and protecting your valuable lung and nose!

VC is my go to option for any type of dusty dirty cleaning be it home or car.

any suggestion? I prefer reliability over affordability

Get any good brand, I have eureka forbes, does House cum pc cleaning.

Vacuum cleaner cannot clean the desktop anywhere as well as leaf blowers. Not even close. And i have heard multiple times not to vacuum desktop/electronics and that blowers are better as long as humidity is not too low.

Just pick the desktop and blow it out of house twice a year. With intake filters and Airpurifier, this seems to be enough for my case. I only have fine dust i think and it accumulates much slower now and clears out very quickly with leaf blower.

Or use blower first and then vacuum though i dont like that either.

One more thing - block the fans - case/cpu/gpu from turning from airflow as that might damage stuff. I just use fingers as we only need to do this on areas that are getting air directly. Can use tape too.

Come at my place someday and watch how makkhan cleaning I do with a VC which will shame any blower. You should learn to use the vc brush attachment precisely which wont leave dust residue behind.

Also, merely a blower or a vc wont do the job complete you have to do manual cleaning with your hands fingers to get beneath fan edges or those corners of the case where no vc or blower flow could reach.

hehe, whatever works is fine.

Yes some stuff can need brushing, esp fans, but i dont want to do too much work so i only do it if i feel like it.

But just few seconds of blower takes out most of the visible dust. Its just so good, wont do it any other way now.

I do regularly use vacuum cleaner on the intake dust filters which are detachable for my case. So most of the dust is actually vacuumed out. But case cleaning with Blower only and brush once in a while.

Leaf blowers are crazy powerful, i use only the lowest settings and still keep some distance.

I do agree but I have highlighted how a blower pollutes the home or environment and the health hazards of its dust sitting sticking on other things around and health hazards.

If someone lives in an independent house or in a similar way then he can do the blow job outside without hampering the home and surrounding envi.

He then can bring the case inside and do the manual cleaning touch-ups.

Agree about in-house which i don’t do but still its manageable with an Air purifier and mask.

Outside, it wont make any difference other than short term spike. Its already polluted and outside air is the source of dust. So i dont see it as an issue as long as you dont do it over somebody. Larger dust balls we can collect if one feels like it.

Had this problem for a long time, especially with my OCD. I just learnt to live with it and doing a “take it out and hose it down with an airblower” once every 3-4 months.

What do you guys use as dust filter for the cases that dont come with dust filters. I have used Amazon.in and its pretty meh. It doesn’t manage to prevent dust inflow much.

I have used these in past and they performed reasonably well

Then tried making my own using these and results were pretty meh:
