Get a Gigabyte / Gainward 6600 GT. No other card are worth the money.
As per the discussion in the other thread, at stock speeds a 6600GT is better than a 6800le.

It does but is significantly slower than the 6600GT. 325 Core and just 600 memory. Not worth it.

If you’re comfortable with abt 10K, the 6600GT is your best bet!
Cards in singapore are marginally cheaper, but again you’re taking a risk and will face the same problems as you have with your 9800 Pro.
The 6600GT price is pretty good for the warranty/support you get here.

Well… The 256 MB versions of a 6600 GT are very rare/har to come by! Also, not worth the additional moolah, IMO!
I think Splinter Cell: Chaos Theory comes bundled with 6600 GT. But with XFX, I’m not too sure, though!
Cost of Gainward should be around 12-12.5 K

Well 256mb cards make perfect sense now,even on slower cards.HL2 shows a marked preference for 256mb cards.Even a 9550 256mb shows a 15% improvement over its 128mb counterpart.Hell even a 5500 256mb showed 7% improvement over its 128mb counterpart.
A 6600Gt makes very good sense with 256mb.

Why do I get the feeling only HL2 offers improvements, infact even the 512mb X800XL has a 60% increment in HL2.
