    • Will probably be playing Witcher 4 and GTA VI when they come out for PC
    • Want to be able to play any game that's out right now at 60-144 fps at high settings (DLSS/Framegen is okay)
  10. What is your preferred monitor resolution for gaming and normal usage
    1. 1920x1080
  11. Are you looking to overclock?
    • Will probably undervolt to save electricity
  12. Which operating system do you intend to use with this configuration?
    • Linux - openSUSE Tumbleweed
    • Windows 10 for games (maybe I'll finally move to 11 now lmao)
Moving from a very modest laptop, so anything is a huge jump. I'd like the CPU to be pretty fast multi-core along with single-core; looking for something similar to an Apple M1. GPU should be a little efficient and also powerful to run 1080p games at 60+ fps. 40 series seems like a necessity for framegen and dlss, meaning I can use RT as well(?). I've probably overspeced the PSU for now, and there's a little more space in the budget rn. The only issue is 4070s go for way too much to be a reasonable decision seems like.

Open to all advice, I haven't been following the scene well since before the 30 series released, so my info might be outdated.

The motherboard is much better and will be able to handle overclocking and higher power upgrades easily. If CUDA is necessary then buying anything less than the 4070 in terms of performance is not a good idea especially since you are spending so much and are also planning to keep the build the same for the next 3 years and seeing as how close the 4070 super is in terms of pricing while offering about 20% better performance it is a better value when compare to the vanilla 4070. The A750GL is a great PSU and is cheaper than the one you picked. The Lancool 215 at 5.6k is an amazing value especially considering the quality of the case and if you are adamant on getting a black case I would suggest the Deepcool Matrexx 55 mesh V4C/V4, it is a good case with 4 pre installed PWM fans. Try and go 6000 CL30 as it is not much more expensive and is the sweet spot for the squeezing the best performance out of the AM5 platform. The P3 Plus is a DRAM-less SSD with a much worse endurance rating than the SN770 which is only 1k more so that is a much better choice. You can choose to use the box cooler but the AG400 is a great cooler for its price and will help keep the temps down for more longevity on the CPU + you can sell the box cooler separately and make some money back.

Spending 18k over a set budget might seem excessive but trust me in the long run, it will be much more worth it. I strongly recommend against going for the 4060Ti as it is way overprice for the kind of performance it offers and especially the amount of VRAM it packs. You could also look on the used market for a 3080 or a 3080Ti to save some extra money while getting about the same performance as a 4070 or a 4070 super, but you will have to be very careful and do your due diligence.

RTX 4060TI gets almost universally panned especially the 8GB variant. NVidia is notoriously stingy with VRAM unfortunately not to mention expensive.
Still if you have to go for an NVidia card then the used market, whether on this forum or elsewhere, is probably the way to go.
RTX 3080 probably goes for around INR 30000 approx used. Might free up your budget to spend elsewhere.
Otherwise try something like below.

My friend searched for 4070 super in SP Road, but prices have shot up, most of them are selling it at 60k+. Saw a PCStudio listing at 58k but things are expensive.

My suggestion to OP will be to buy used RTX 3060Ti or 3070 for 16-18k instead of the infamous 4060Ti. Else R5 7600 based rig is the way to go. Just change RAM, SSD & cabinet as mentioned earlier, options selected by @Kaching999 looks good, except the mobo. Keep the MSI mobo for cheap or spend 16k on Gigabyte B650 Gaming X AX V2 which will give you a 3rd M.2 slot. For mATX cabinet like CM 301 Elite, choose an mATX mobo.

Damn that's bad it's probably because of how bad the 5080 was and how bad the 5070 is going to be especially since it will most likely be just a paper launch like the 5080 and the 5090. Models like the Inno3d and Msi ventus are still at around 54-55k online though so maybe it's just for the specific models.

People usually prefer nvidia cards for productivity and ai tasks. However your budget doesn't allow for a good new card like the 4070 super that might be great for your tasks.
As mentioned by others going the used route with a 3080ti, 3080, 3070 ti, might be a great choice.
But there isn't a lot of options for new nvidia cards, only like the 3060, 4070 super are great ig.
But for AMD new cards, the 7700xt and the 7800xt are always there.
The 7800xt is going for 48k new, which is a absolute bang for the buck, just be sure if the tasks you want to perform work on these cards. Amd has made a lot of improvements over the years with there gpus and software compatibility.

But it's always your call,

Everything else recommend by others seem great.

Best of luck with your pc.

Everything is good except the GPU & Cabinet as 8GB for the GPU is not enough in 2025 onwards for gaming so going with Asrock RX 7700XT 12GB @ 40k & Lian Li lancool 215 ARGB Cabinet @ 5.6k are best I think. Link: ASROCK RX 7700 XT Challenger OC 12GB & LIAN LI Lancool 215 ARGB.
Keeping in view you have 1lac as your budget.
7700XT was my initial choice, but I'm not too sure how that's gonna fare software wise. AMD seems to be doing a little better with the deepseek situation so I might actually consider it. Case is nice, didn't find it in my searches but the big fans are super nice.

Unless you mean undervolting when you say overclocking, I don't really need the more expensive motherboard.
4070S is a bit too steep for me brand new, especially given that prices only seem to be going up (a friend of mine got one for ~50k at SCL).
What do better CL timings do for me exactly? Will I see a real perf improvement in compiles and such?
I think I'll stick to the stock cooler for now, and buy a new one later if temps are 90 or above.
I'm mainly concerned about higher power consumption and lack of framegen with the 3080.

Thanks for all the feedback, I think the cases will come down to looks. Can't believe they're still selling DRAM-less SSDs in 2025.

Is a 3070 actually powerful enough? 4060Ti can clutch because of framegen I would assume.
I'm planning to hit Ankit, Aashirwad, Mahavir, Golchha and SCL, get quotes, and decide after sleeping on it.

Unless you mean undervolting when you say overclocking, I don't really need the more expensive motherboard.
It's just a better motherboard overall in terms of stability, power stages and VRMs. But you could also look at 16k one like OMEGA said.

Tighter CL timings lead to lower latency between the CPU, RAM and the GPU hence better frametimes and framerates, AMD especially benifits from lower latency timings as compared to Intel which prefers higher frequency RAM. You will surely see better performance in gaming but I don't have much idea about the productivity tasks.

Trust me you don't need frame gen, it only makes you gameplay look smoother without making it feel any better, for some people it even causes motion sickness and can also lead to artefacts when turned on a framerates below 60 fps. But if you still absolutely need frame gen then Lossless Scaling provides a good alternative for now, it's available on Steam to purchase and can be used in every game I think. Also since the use of the new Transformer model of DLSS and the use of a new method of frame generation there is hope that it might come to 20 and 30 series as well.

Is a 3070 actually powerful enough? 4060Ti can clutch because of framegen I would assume.
The 3070 has the same performance as the 4060Ti and using frame gen with an 8gb card is going to be a challenge since it increases VRAM usage when turned on so look at the benchmarks to confirm that but there is always Lossless Scaling available. You can also look the normal 4070 since it might be available for cheaper than 50k since it won't be selling that much due the 4070 super.

Framegen (fake frames :clown: ) should not even factor into your decision-making for this tier of GPUs. You'll get 90 fps, sure, but it'll feel like 30—like Jello. Which factor about the high power consumption of a 3080 are you worried about? GPU temps or electricity costs? I have a 3080, That I run balls-to-the-walls with full power + OC (360+w). Electricity cost overhead has been next to nothing in almost 2 years. As for temps, it depends on a lot of factors (your environment, card condition, etc.) @Tracer_Bullet also has a 3080, which he runs undervolted, with acceptable power limits and performance. Do NOT get a 60/70 series SKU from the 30 or 40 series (8 GB variants), even for 1080p. VRAM limits will eventually hit you. 3080/4070 is the minimum.
