Can anybody tell me the practical difference between these 3 monitors.

As per my understanding,
1. 2233SW is HD (1920*1080)
T220 and T220HD has (1680*1050) resolution

T220HD has TV tuner, HDMI... but its(T220 HD) presence in India is still doubtful.

Now talking just abt T220 and 2233SW.

T220 is at 13.5k and 2233SW is for 10.5k at most of the stores... both panels are TN. and color dept all seems to be same. T220 has better response time, still that cant make it 3k costlier. I am getting a feeling that T220 is gonna soon disappear by T220HD, if this is the case then all seems correct...

Plz. comment.

Samsung Suc*s!

I've faced so many problems getting my Samsung 226bw Panel Replaced. Took me almost 4 months , and finally they refunded back the whole amount.

Will never buy another Samsung panel. Very Very poor after sales service and replacement.

thanks for sharing your experience... but then what is best company according to you. (this may be rather not rational, but just tell me what you gut feelings says)

out of 10 rate (higher the better)
1. Samsung
2. LG
3. Dell
4. Viewsonic
5. AOC
6. BenQ

right now cant think of more, but you may add more in the list...

U hardly see this kind of posts around...:P

Must have been a bad experience. Else, Samsung has the best after sales service in India among all other.
I think even in TE u'll hardly find a thread for bad after sales service by Samsung.
Like they say, Samsung's ASS is the best...:P

16:10 monitors are dissapearing from the market in favour of 16:9.....i cant say about the practical difference but 2233sw is more vfm than t220

taher, i dont know whats "vfm"?

well i think T220 is positioned for status, look etc... and 2233SW for entry level use...

this is the difference only in external looks(body etc..), or performance also

vfm means value for money...:bleh:

Ya, exactly, T220 is primarily costly due to the same bezel as the Samsung LCD TVs, with the red tinge. And ya, if u stand infront of it, it does look breathtaking for a PC monitor. Its ideal place is a HTPC in ur private bedroom. :P

Performance wise, i am not aware of any differene, though people with mid range cards can use the lower resolution of the T220 (1680x1050) for playing games at native resolution and also the screen space in T220 is greater than the 2233SW, it being 16:10...:)

any idea when will T220HD reach India???

It must be already in stores and if it is not, it will never come. Around July 2008, when T220 was launched T220HD was supposed to be the higher end model with HD resolution for TV (it has inbuilt TV tuner).

But by December the market was flooded with cheap HD resolution monitors. Benq and Dell were specially quick and aggressive. T220 was priced around 15K while newer 22" monitors from Benq and Dell were selling for around 12K. Moreover, they had HD resolution (albeit less screen due to 16:9) and public, of course, was swayed by the talk of HD.

It forced Samsung to launch 2233WS. This brought Samsung back in the game but annihilated its T220 HD and T220 monitors.

yeah very true Morgoth...

still samsung guys are not reducing T220's price... dont know why???

i tried calling sumsung call centre guys... asked them abt T220 HD, the funny part is this guy asked me my address and gave me the "Complaint no.". I told him I was making inquiry and complaint, still he stressed to take down the no.

I wonder if i buy T220 HD from outside India, will i be able to have tech. support in India???

Must be having a target to attend X no. of complaints so giving every one a complaint no.

^^ thats not a complaint number; rather a token number. Also,i wud recommend the Dell deal here(24 incher for 14.6) if u r going for 22 incher for 13.5k.

EDIT: Try the monitors in person if u can btw, since i have always noticed better blacks and contrast with Samsung monitors as opposed to the likes of Dell,Viewsonic,AOC.

Yeah,

Samsung has this reputation of better contrast and blacks... so i am also inclined towards samsung...

any idea how much is T240??? (atleast thats more than HD)

if anyone considering T220 (and have a budget) then why not get dell ips panel @ 14k??

Simply bcoz they dnt know about the existence of Dell monitors...:cool2:

In India, u still have a rare presence of Dell and people are naturally inclined to other companies, especially home segment biggies like Samsung.
Also, people dnt usually look at what panel a monitor has...TN,e-IPS or whatever, how many out dere really know and care about this man...
A guy having money to spend for a monitor for his bedrrom would definitely go for this T220. :) Unless he is is TE...:P

also in case of dell u are not able so see physically the monitor before buying it (Although now dell is coming into retail shops) so ppl are apprehensive of buying it
