I am going to buy a samsung lcd soon.
I'm considering LA32C530 and LA32C550.
price quotes im getting are 35k and 38k respectively.
i hear the 550 has an allshare feature in addition.
id like to play files from my pc on the tv.
is it really worth the extra 3k and can it be done easily ?

2nd question
Also if i get LA37C530 will there be much difference? (price qouted :48k)
will the extra 5 inches be worth the huge difference of 13k.

3rd question
The last one is an led ; UA32C5000 (price qouted :45k)
(wondering if its better to go with new tech though cost is on higher side, also i found on the net that this one can't handle mkv files properly so, um... :( )

The tv will be used for general dth, and occasionally gaming by attaching pc.

pls suggest which is best. Also i'll be visiting some other shops and will change the prices if i get lower from somewhere.

p.s. if you know any prices to be lower for these models pls tell.

acc. to ur question -----C530 is the way to go ..........

for allshare feature u will need a separate DEVICE worth 2-3 k

no need .get C530

thx for your fast reply.

can u throw some more light on that bro?

and pls answer my second question too.

i m in kinda of ur situation tooo.........

in simple language - C550 allshare is not worth it unless u have everything wireless !
32" n 37" will make difference .........

size can go on increasing and so the money ............but u have see how big is ur room and distance ........

all u need is to take ur chair a foot more closer to tv when compare 32" with 37 "

either buy C530 or SONY BX400 40 " @ 40 k grey market !

sorry for going off ur choices, but if u have the space why not get the LG 42LD460 for 45k.. u'll get a bigger TV.. i believ u can also play media file thru the USB port

Btw I got a pricing of 55k for the LA40C550! wOOt! Although it is a sheer case of panel lottery when it comes to Samsung, I really really hope I get a S-PVA panel. :ashamed:

Might as well enquire the pricing for the LA40C630. :D

Model number on the side of the panel - if it reads SQXX, it implies it is an SPVA panel. If it reads ACXX, it is an A-MVA panel or if it reads CNXX, it is S-MVA. But the chances of getting the last 2 are remote or at least in our country. Most of them end up getting a S-PVA panel.

In terms of PQ, it is perceived that S-PVA>S-MVA~A-MVA.

my problem is between LG D550 and SAMSUNG C530 ! will use as PC monitor as well

and feeling gray market to be risky ! for EX400

SUGGEST ME DeSecrator

^Grey market is not risky provided you can check the LCD from the outlet before you buy one. And for the first year of usage, no LCDs show signs of any defect in majority of the cases so you are safe buying a panel from the grey market. Since you need PC input as well, stay away from the Sony lineup. This is because the Bravia Engine 3 (abb. BE3) does not recognise the input as a PC input and thus the PQ suffers irrespective of the best calibration one can do. Udit and Shripad can vouch for this - you may PM them should you need additional inputs on this problem.

I'd vouch for the C530. The B series belongs to the 2009 lineup JFYI.

I do not keep a tab on LG LCDs or the plasma lineup since LG seems to rely on a lot of marketing gimmicks starting from IPS panels, contrast ratio, LED branding, PMPO etc to advertise their lineup which is FAIL. Their TVs somehow have not impressed me till date with the PQ - I have seen their lineup and have compared them from the panels from Samsung, Sony & Panasonic. Sharp panels sadly are not being sold in numbers but they make some amazing displays till date including their large format displays for industries and hospitals. Although it cannot be compared to a similar NEC display which costs almost 1.5 times more than the Sharp panel, the PQ is simply brilliant - our company has invested in 3 Sharp displays to view the model of the ships being built and the PQ is jaw dropping, to say the least. :P

even the samsung c530 i used for 2 days was not good as PC monitor via HDMI ..i had to use VGA but then colors suffered !

i thought maybe sony or lg would be better .now i think SAMSUNG would be safe BET !

^You gave away your panel to your sibling before some research could be done on it. So you cannot complain! ;)

If it failed to read the media off the USB disk, you can very well complain to the dealer/Samsung authorised service center since the documentation does list .mkv as one of the video formats supported.

what kind of research should have been done ?

what does OT mean mate ? :)
Research in the sense, tinkering around with the device. Not may devices work the way they are meant to, OOTB.

OT = Off Topic.

So Sammy C530 , huh ?

@ 34 k

the gray market causes headache

when EX400 @ 27 k and BX400 @ 40 k

gives a question , is it worth it ?

whether to buy in Grey market is subjective.
I wouldn't buy the BX400,for a little more you can get the EX400.

AT OP
The 37" only come in a SMVA panel or AMVA,the price difference compared to 40" isn't much.So give the 37" a pass.

The LED lcds have lower power consumption are thinner, they have more aggressive dynamic contrast .
So get the C550A.

^And guess what, thexfactor told me a while back that someone got a C panel (SMVA) for the Samsung LA46C550! Now that is scary! :ashamed:
