Graphic Cards 4770 vs 4670

I wanted to know how much of a performance difference is there b/w hd 4770 512mb and HD 4670 1gig? Is it really great or just at the right price?
 
See for the benches yourself, 4670 1gig will perform the same as 512mb ones. 4770 is considerably faster, buy what fits your budget as both are good VFM, although if you have a 19" screen or larger a 4770 is a minimum.
 
Actually...hd 4770 was not in stock...and i was definately going to buy that....so I settled for a 4670 1 gig...and now I plan to get a 19'' Lcd...will it be enough for it?....One more thing....will my CM 500w support a 250 gts?
 
A 128 bit bus can't handle more than 512MB of GDDR3 effectively. If you want to go for a non-reference 4670. consider the one from Sapphire with 512MB of GDDR4.
In anycase, the 4770 is considerably faster than any 4670.

Now that you've bought it, be happy with it. It's not a bad card by any means, also consumes even lesser power than the 4770.
It's obvious from emperical observation that the 4770 is the better card, but that doesn't mean the 4670 is bad.
Also, the extra video ram might have some advantage when playing on higher resolutions...
 
Many people get mislead. The main function/motive of more memory in you Graphic Card is for accommodating more pixels. If you run at a screen res lower than 1920×1080, there's little/no use of more memory.
 
HD 4670 is 5-10 % slower than a 9600GT .

HD 4770 is 25-30 % faster than a 8800GT ( which itself is way faster and better performer than 9600gt) and 5 % slower than a HD4850
so basically 4770 is 5 % slower than HD 4850, with around 30-40 % lesser powerconsumption than 4850, and runs cooler also with the 40nm technology

Load powerconsumption of 4770 doesnt cross over 60 W as per reviews which is very good considering the "performance per watt ".
HD4770 really does justice to its price (6.5k according to some seller here )

i wont recommend running anything more than 9600GT on a CM extreme power series 500W...

u better get a Corsair CX400 for 3k and sell off ur CM 500W for 2k to local dealer.

lol sorry..people generally say that a HD4850 is arnd 20-30 % faster than a 8800gt , and if u check reviews u can see that HD 4770 is only arnd 5 % slower than HD4850, hence i just mentioned 4770 must be having arnd that much performance more than 8800gt

and when ur saying its equal/ merely slower than 8800gt, i cant say anything else , but you are just ignorant lol....

It is a fact that the 4770 is 20-25% faster than the 8800GT. If you are ignorant about the fact dont mislead other ppl.

And there is no problem running a 8800 GT on a CM 500W psu. Substantiate your statements instead of talking bullshit.
@ OP, the difference between the 4670 and 4770 is huge, the performance of the 4770 will be about 70-80% better than the 4670 1 gb

OMG 4770 totally rox!

and abt CM Extreme 500W, ive seen friend's Gigabyte 8800GT go kaput for no resn.. same with CM 600..zzz.. thats y advising OP to invest in Corsair.. ITs much much safer.

the so said 20-25 % difference is just for benchmarks sake, sometimes it might be just like 4-5fps difference , which you can know from benchmarks , but in real life i guess people wont feel much difference while playing, its just an overall benchmark
