Which model is better - one with single slot cooler or dual slot cooler

Is there any significant difference to consider between either of the two

Single

Dual

IMHO...bara hai to behtar hai....:bleh:....

The dual slot has a bigger cooler and may run things cooler....

heck i run a 4 slot cooler on my 8800 GTS .....

what about the rest Card design and build quality are they both same?? anybody seen both the cards(4850's)??

that palit dual slot cooler card doesn't seem to have either ram or vrm cooling, and both of those cards will dump hot air in the case itself.

^^ Have anyone of u seen the cards in person before making the above comments !

The palit/Xpertvision HD 4850 uses only 2 phases VRM for the core, whereas the stock card comes with 4-phase VRMS ! The Palit (dual slot)one looks very cheap in built quality using low quality inductors, and ya no cooling on the MOSFETS on HD 4850 might be a receipe for disaster ! And that dual slot cooler is a Palit standard one and nothing out of the world. How else do u think its 1k cheaper than reference cards.

For non-reference once, I will currently suggest HIS IceQ4 HD 4850, Palit HD 4850 Sonic or Sapphire Toxic :)

^ Are Supra bhai.... dara diya aapne.. whats your take on GeCube then? :S

gecube one is refrence design saar :)...no worries all the 4850s r doing very well. In fact ppl on XS are having a gala of time ocing the 4850s more than the 4870s. Also the voltage controller on the 4850 can be undervolted to as low as 940 mV (from stock 1100~1150 mV), which in turn makes the card consume only arnd 35~40W in idle :D

Newegg.com - MSI R4850-512M Radeon HD 4850 512MB 256-bit GDDR3 PCI Express 2.0 x16 HDCP Ready CrossFire Supported Video Card - Desktop Graphics / Video Cards
IceQ4 is quite close to 4870 in price tho:no:
