Graphic Cards 660ti or 670 for 1080p?

Well then even 670 will heat up at loads, you do need proper cooling in place if you want a monster card. Or go for a stock card which throws out heat from behind but the temperature would be higher.

But don't the cards of both the 6**-series and 7*** series have really low temps? I've been using the relatively hot 9800gt without any problems so I think that my Corsair cabinet can keep either of these cards cool at stock speeds.

Also, I think that this 7950 with Boost would be a better alternative to the Flex. If I were to pick this card over the 670, that is.

Oohlala, it does seem that in newer benches the 7950 Boost gets ahead of the 670.

With a smaller fabrication node comes great efficiency and lower temperatures. =P

So, do you agree that the HD7950 with boosted core-clocks is worth your monies OR no?

The card that you have linked on flipkart.com is the same one that @cranky Sire suggested you to go for in the first place.

Yea, I agree with that. I think I'll be getting the Sapphire 7950 with Boost then. That's a final you guys, right? Then the only things left to do is a)Look up Sapphire's RMA process and b) see if the 30 cm long card will fit in my Corsair cabinet.

If it is the Corsair Carbide 400R it should fit without any issues.

As far as I have heard and know, Sapphire has a robust after sales network in the metros.

Alright, so who handles Sapphire RMA? Is it handled exclusively by Aditya Infotech Delhi or can I just take the card to the local Chandigarh service center?

Edit:

It's a Corsair Carbide, I'll check which number it belongs to.

Aditya Infotech all over the country, just get it to the Chandigarh's designated service-centre, collection-centre.

After that it should not take more than ~1 -->3 weeks for you to be informed, appraised and issued with a replacement card in case of issues covered under the Limited Warranty terms.

^ Great. My cabinet is the Carbide 300R, it looks roomy enough to me. I'm going to order the card via Flipkart once I've the cash ready at home, hopefully I'll place the order this weekend itself.

one side you say you dont have that great cooling, other side you say you think it keeps your hot card cool :scared14:.
Anyways 300R has decent cooling and would be absolutely fine.

And they have low temps relatively, if anything is kept at constant load like hardcore gaming at max settings, you cant expect it to be cooler. Also depends on ambient temperatures.

My point was that the cabinet is decent enough for handling gpu temps at stock settings but not enough for overclocked cards.

So, I'm a bit ashamed about beating a dead horse, but it seems that the Gigabyte 670 is back in stock. It has an edge over the 7950b in that the Giga 670 has a higher core clock than the boosted clocks of the 7950. Plus, the Boost seemingly puts a load on the power and raises the temps too. @ALPHA17 recommended Gigabyte as a manufacturer but I feel that its RMA services aren't as good as Sapphire's. Thoughts?

I place the order on Monday, and it's going to be one of the two.

Why are you doubtful of GIGABYTE as a brand?

The GTX670 makes a strong case for itself thanks to the higher clocks and better overall TDP and thermal profile. Also after using the cash-voucher it becomes even more palatable.

The cooler can be noisier though.

Hmm... so you don't have an idea of the quality of their RMA? That sucks. But I'm favoring the Gigabyte for now anyway.

No my experience is limited to the Bangalore area and because the HQ of GIGABYTE distributors is there, it was a fine experience (although long drawn).

So I cannot give them a free pass here, also over-all negative reports have reached me for GIGABYTE in certain towns of India.
