There is no doubt after having been running W7 that is far superior,faster, and less bloated than previous versions of Windows. As mentioned.. you will never find the perfect OS.. no matter what the fanboys say. I am comfortable with Linux,Mac and windows and I would still pick windows over any other ...... if for no other reason than because of practicality... there is more to run on it in terms of software and hardware. That's really the bottom line for me too... but that aside, I really do like W7 anyway!!

Yes go ahead, your specs are fine... assuming you have ample HDD space - upto about 15gb free needed I believe...
