Graphic Cards 8800GT vs 9600GT

hello ppl,

im a bit confused about this new 9600gt card launched by xfx. is it better than 8800gt considering the fact that both of them have 512mb of ram. i read somewhere that 9600gt supports DirectX 10.1 while 8800gt support DirectX 10.0 does it make any difference? i was surely going to buy xfx 8800 gt and now i got the news that 9600gt has arrived. which one should i go for? my budget is around 14k.
 
8800gt is still the better card and still better vfm overall.. If you can afford the 8800gt then there is no need to go fot 9600gt. And even 9600gt is DX10 only and not 10.1 which itself does not make big difference.
 
Firstly... Both the cards are DX10... nVIDIA has not released any DX10.1 card till date...

Secondly, go for the 8800GT since it has more shader power (112 Shaders Vs 9600GT's 64 Shaders)

Dont kn abt XFX but palit 9600GT are priced around 9.5k and almost as fast as 8800GT... They are also cooler...
Get the 9600GT if you can settle for 90% perf of 8800GT.
 
im looking for a card which can serve me for atleast 2 years. im also planning to buy 22"/24" dell lcd. can 8800gt handles the resolution of these monitors. and foremost...i want to play all the games including crysis and bioshock:hap2: at medium/max settings. which one is better performer 8800gt or 9600gt?

isnt 9600gt priced at 13.9k??
 
Looks like I was wrong temperature front. Both run equally hot.... 9600GT consumes 20W lesser power... thats not decisive either.

with 8800GT u pay 3k more you get 3-4 fps more with Bioshock/Crysis at 1280x960 n higher. Its your call...

Check the reviews.

But please note, you are not going to be able to get too much value of either card after a year.
 
will both of them perform equally in terms of multimedia software such as photoshop, flash, coreldraw, 3d studio max and maya 3d??

if 8800gt again emerges the winner, then im goin for it :)

9600gt is the replacement for the 8600gts..to take back the crown of the best card around/under 10k from hd3850.....it was never meant to challenge the 8800gt....wen the 98 series comes out then well bring in the 8800`s...
 
9600gt is so totally not for 9k....i jus checked it today.....xfx 9600gt is for 14500...
.....but damn it luks gud....d "9" graphic luks hot.

thats a silly inflated price dude...check with some other dealer cos seems this ones takin u for a ride :P look in he dealer section on TE itself. its available for <10k :ohyeah:

dude dat can either b home made or from som god damn company lik palit....9600gt is 2 hot to cum under 10k for now atleast...
