freestyler .... just bcoz u own a xfx doesnt mean oder cards are shit...palit has been long known to be known to give good cards with no frills...msi ...one of the best brands dude.....

check them here if u are interested, these are eVGA cards, can kick XFX and others easily outta the ground..

LOL u dnt need to tell again & again on every thread :P...btw eVGA can onlk manage stock coolers & if its the old revision type on 8800GT be ready for 85-90 degrees on load. Why buy eVGA when Gigabyte is available for 2k less with better OC, better cooler, etc :)....as long as no local step up ...eVGA will take its time. Its good to see the competition heating up though :P....also to see eVGA being positioned as a premium band ...may be someday some wise ppl frm TE will be big official impoters/distris rather than the pan chewing ones

9600gt is the replacement for the 8600gts..to take back the crown of the best card around/under 10k from hd3850.....it was never meant to challenge the 8800gt....wen the 98 series comes out then well bring in the 8800`s...

It was not meant to challenge 8800GT...but its got too close to 8800GT for their own comfort....abt 90% perf of 8800GT is too close :P

Since you are keen on Crysis, this looks good...
e-GeForce 8800GT Superclocked 512MB
with Crysis Bundle...for Rs 14,490/-

I thought the 8800GT would be at least 30~35% better (at least!). Why is there such a small difference between 64 and 112 SPs?

Vij are their any good sites that've done comparisons between the 2 cards? Cause I didn't get anything on anandtech, they've compared the 9600GT to mid-rangers only.

^^Supra its not a premium brand, its an enthusiast brand I think. Which is even better...

The best bet is that Gigabyte 8800GT card with a zalman cooler for 12k odd. Excellent bang for the buck. Out of the box its clocked at 700/920 and even at those clocks, its temps are just 60 degree loaded.

go wid 8800gt.. it will help you to play games, that are going to launch in future! it has damn good shaders.. thats all

But is the market price 12K? The one is in the bazaar section is going at 12K but wouldn't the market price be more like 15K? Its like 225$ in the US...

the 96 may level the 8800gt in future games...
^^yes, yes. I may grow wings and fly too...

read at oder forum where a guy got it for like 11960....
may was the operative word... even in current games the 9600gt comes very close to the 8800gt in perfo...the 8800gt 256 mb loses to the 9600gt 512...
when the 86gt came out no one xpected it to do anything...initially it was even outclassed by 7600gt..but as drivers updates came in it even outclasses the 7900gs...dats why i say the 9600gt may equal the 8800gt in future ....
