see bro GTS250 is slightly better in performance in comparison with HD4850 but HD4850 is 500-600rs cheaper then GTS250 that's y few members r suggesting it(as HD4850 is around 6.6k-7k & GTS250 is around 7.3k)..both has some unique quality over other as HD4850 has DX10.1 support(which will help u when DX11 supported games will come into market) & GTS250 will perform much better when u'll play Physx supported games(play Batman's demo on NV & ATI gpu of your friend[if anybody have] n u'll come to know that diff b/w fps is huge)

btw i don't c ne point of going with DX10.1 enabled card when DX11 cards are just about to enter into market

see bro .......gtx+ = 250 thats it with .25% here n there.

now talkin abt the 4850 radeon there r improvements i feel crisys no more optimised for nvidia only farcry looks good in 4850 too

nvidia beat radeon in few but @ low res only, also the difference aren't huge because of the raw power of ATI but when amd scales they actually scale much higher than that of nvidia........moreover nvidia cant handle the dx10 part even with a 1gb varient like amd (with 512mb) ..........thats y i will anyday go for ATI.

still if u wanna go for nvidia go for 1gb it actually makes the difference a lot.

when GTS250 1GB is around 8.5k & HD4870 is around 9k then there's no point of buying GTS250 1GB..

GTS250 512mb is what he should go for

I will also be buying gts 250 on 21st of dis month as i m out of delhi rt now..bt i m confused btwn MSI nd Palit brand..for which 1 i should go for? MSI is at 8k here..Palit no idea bt shld be arnd 7.3k..does msi deserve these 700 bks over palit..inbtn i dont like msi design..palit look more hot..bt if msi is better dan palit in any respect(say failure rate, built quality) i will go for msi without considering d price diff..plz hlp..thanks

dude palit's gpuz r normally cooler than the competition due slighty larger fan but they r also quiet noisy.while the msi wud be a little hotter than the palit it wont be as noisy.

Dunno about other brands but my PCS Powercolor HD4850 idles at 47 C and with 100% GPU usage in furmark never reached anything above 63 C and even with GPU at 100% usage fan was still at 70% of its max capabale speed. And it is audible only at 100% GPU usage which now is no even audible because of my thermaltake side fan which is more louder lols :D.

It depends on quality of cooling system on GPU not GPU brand IMO.

Powercolor uses arctic cooling solutions for its PCS GPUs.

My 2 cents :)

@raheelshadab

nope

its not worth. nvidia redesigned the 9800GTX and released 9800GTX+ with 55nm GPU and some improvements in clocks. Its power consumption was also less with better performance.

nvidia again redesigned its PCB and cooling system and came out with GTS 250, which was much smaller than old one. Also but cheaper to manufacture, though power consumption and performance is almost same.

So at present, its 4850 or GTS 250 are the cards one should look for with budget around 6.5~7.5k

if anybody is having budget around 6.5k-7.5k(considering that person already has a good PSU) then HD4850 or GTS250 r best bang for money :hap2:
