I was always of the mind that there is ALWAYS a loophole in India for everything, and one can even get away with murder if he/she exploits the loophole in some way.
Mobile Number Portability was about to change that idea, but I just received a message on my Dad's no (Loop Mobile) that reads like this:
REQUEST REJECTED BY DONOR DUE : SUBSISTING CONTRACTUAL OBLIGATIONS FROM THE SUBSCRIBER AGREEMENT.

NOW, an absolutely HOPELESS service like Loop Mobile that dare to even call themselves mobile service providers (dropped calls, frequent cross connections, extremely poor network etc) has the guts to send a message like this when ALL OUR DUES are clear, ALL VALUE ADDED SERVICES unsubscribed, and EVERYTHING else in proper order.

I am so angry that I can go to any lengths to get my message across to the highest of authorities.

Please guide me through this.

This is a NEW MENACE FROM Telephone Companies against Mobile Number Portability, their nemesis.

I have seen multiple threads now regarding this issue. First it was Airtel not letting go of customers by simply rejecting the request and not giving any remarks and now this :@

TRAI or whoever has setup the rules for rejection should step in and levy charges on operators who are following such practices.

this looks like a good place to start.
mnp Reliance to Airtel. Request Rejected by Donor. There are subsisting contractual obligatios, Mnp, Reliance, indore,Consumer Complaint Company Complaint India

both RCOM and Airtel representatives replied to the customer's complaint.

-edit-
regarding the message you got.

- Subsisting contractual obligations:

The Donor operator can reject a porting request if there are subsisting contractual obligations in respect of which an exit clause has been provided in the subscriber agreement but the subscriber has not complied with such exit clause.

you can ask for details about this so called obligations.

I havent face any issues while porting my number from airtel to Docomo. Today i got message that porting will be completed today after 10PM. It takes 8 days to complete this process.

post them on their social networking pages twitter/facebook and see wat happens , i m guessing loop is on facebook as others :P

loop mobile is very BAD in terms of mnp... they will reject your request by giving foolish reason.....while my first mnp attempt they gave me reason low balance (below 1 rs) and ur not in base plan (i was in per second plan)........ i rectify both of them and in second time they reject my mnp request telling me the reason "Sir, u r in base plan and u have to remain in that for 90 days....... what the f**k!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!".............then no chance to change operator i gone for "going for great plan"........etop up with 16 and now all local calls 30ps, loop calls20 ps, 10 sms free for 90 days and 3 month wap free. the tarriff valid for 1 year without any rental.

so if u not able to switch from loop then atleast take advantage of this plan!!!

Normally, if you switch from Prepaid to Postpaid or even if you are on Postpaid and migrate to a new PostPaid plan, you are considered as a new subscriber and not allowed to port until 3 months. This is the case with Idea. You could find out if there were any such contractual terms by Loop when you took up the plan!

WTF.. this must be a new rule formulated by operators themselves.

Guys

I have a loopmobile prepaid connetion with "Dus ka Gang" plan.

Well the problems i face are "No signal", most of the time my clients complain "Phone switched off" message etc.

I am complaining to loopmobile for past 1.5 year on their suggestion i have changed the sim card once and 2 times I have changed the instrument. Further I am loosing business.

Can somebody please help me to provide a sure shot way to use the MNP to port out to vodafone.

BTW i have filled the form for vodafone. but listening to your experiences I think porting will not be easy.

has any one opted out from the loopmobile "dus ka gang" please post your experience.

All these so call rules are made just to make the customer stick to their existing network operator :@

Try escalating to the nodal officer. That will at least guarantee a response from them. Contact details should be available from the providers website.

It is very easy unless you have some contractual obligations. You have been using this dus ka gang for over 1.5 years so you should ideally not be within any contractual obligations.

Submit the request and then wait and watch, most likely your request will get processed within the normal 7 days. If Loop rejects your request then you should write a mail to their nodal officer. They will make sure that you do not face such issues when you resubmit your request.

Yea, the nodal officer always works. My friend (a Loop subscriber) was facing issues with CC. After 10 or so calls to CC and no progress, he called up the nodal officer and within 15 mins he got a call back from CC.

I am a subscriber of loopmobile for past 5+ years. Since the past 2 years I am having too many network problems. Despite repeated requests and complaints via the loopmobile call center and emails. There has been no improvement in the performance of their service.

Problems being faced (by me and my collegues using loopmobile) :

1. Frequent disconnection of dialed / received calls

2. 100% disconnection of calls while travelling (on the move).

3. Many complaints received from prospective callers that my mobile is switched off, despite it being on for 24 hours.

4. Many people frequently complain that my mobile is un-reachable.

Action taken by me on suggestions of loopmobile staff

1. Changed the sim card

2. Change the instrument 2 times in last 2 years.

Calling the loopmobile call centre is a pathetic experience as most of the time it takes 2-3 times to get the operator and again there are frequent disconnections. Also their staff does not reply correctly and on demanding the escalation of calls the line is disconnected. As a proof of the conversations I have recorded several calls where the loopmobile operators are unethical. In many cases my emails where not replied too as well. I have all the relevant documentation and proofs to support my claim.

Further I want to my prepaid plan from “10 ka bol india bol gang” to base plan.

For the same I have send multiple requests via sms “BASE” to 50505 and “REMOVE” to 50505 from 24th April 2011 onwards.

I received the confirmation that my request has been taken and will be activated within a span of 2 hours. Since 24th April now more then 30 hours have passed and till now my plan has not yet changed.

On 25th April 2011 I visited the loopmobile gallery at irla / andheri west, the one next to shoppers stop. There I was told that the MNP request will be rejected, because at the time when I had converted from postpaid to prepaid I did not submit any documentation. This is all false. Because 2 years back when I had converted from postpaid to prepaid I had filled in a new application form and re-submitted my ID proof and proof of residence along with a photograph. Again today I was compelled to fill up the form again and re-submit the required documentation again. Also I had to skip the entire days work which resulted in business loss and mental agony.
I would appreciate any co-operation with regards to this mater.

@boogeyman: Take out the details from ur post cause i think u are not allowed to post any personal email ids and names of concerned people man... Do it before u get some warning
