Hi i Got a New Abit IP35E along with OCZ 2 GB Kit....but the board wont boot :@ ...after all the huff n puff ... when i switch on the mobo nothing happens ..just the Red LED indicated that the board is getting power..have checked all the components, first thaught my Chepo PSU is the problem ..so got a new VIP 400W ..but again no success...have checked the manual and dont see any onboard switch, also checked the PSU/Proccy etc ....i just cant make out whats the problem...is the board faulty ??:ashamed: ...also all the other components work just find on my old D945 Mobo....plz help..
My PC Config is as below

C2D E4500 @ Stock
Dynet 2Gb DDR2 @ 533 / OCZ 2GB kit @800 Mhz
Intel D945 / Abit IP35E Motherboard
Enter 400W AUX 12V Ver 1.3 / VIP 400W Silver AUX 12V Ver 2.2 (i Guess)

Get a better PSU not a crappy VIP 400W PSU.

I'd suggest a Coolermaster 460W as against this one. Better than the cheapo VIPs.

The board can turn out to be faulty as well [ a remote chance though] but before you replace it, try booting the same with a different PSU [friend's perhaps??].

Try inserting a single stick of RAM and booting.

Make sure you're not shorting anything out. Assemble the board outside the cabinet, make sure you take adequate anti-static precautions. That VIP PSU isn't too good either.

Basics - just plug in one stick of RAM, one HDD and one video card.

just power on the mobo with no components attached..ie. RAM , HDD...

Check to see whether fans are working or not then add components one by one so that u can figure out problem

ummm have you plugged the right pins to the power on header? i meant the power switch on the cabby.
if the board would have booted, atleast fans will spin.

did u try clearing the cmos ? .. possibilities of display not working, hope you've tried checking the gfx card on other boards as well.

I see, you have dynet as well as OCZ? .. did u start the system with 2 different brands of rams ?

It happened to me too, but that was an issue with moisture during rainy season. Had to start it off by using a hairdryer

see if the new psu u got is workin properly or not... n if possible get a better one... n check with only 1 ram chip.. might work....

did you ever tried to reset the bios by setting the jumper on 1-2 pin.. check that first as it needs to be back on 2-3 pin settings.. the system will not boot without that jumper sitting on the correct position.

saroman is at Nashik and the day he got the board I was on the phone trying to get his board to work. According to the manual it should have booted but somehow it decided not to. And ppl we r not talking about noobs here; the guy has some info about comps so he kinda ok ok with it. I have suggested that he get a diff PSU coz that seems the only problem to me. Lets see when he returns what happens...

short the vip psu and chk if the psu is working.Short the green and black wire.Try starting the mobo directly the power switch of cabinet can be faulty too.

Just spend 1.2K (which i ddnt had  )on the PSU so unless am damn sure the PSU is prob and not the damn mobo ...am gonna stick wid the psu..

did that with both the OCZ sticks, 1 Sata HDD & my GFX...dont work :@

dude there aint any power switch...just 2 headers 1- 24 Pin header & other 4 Pin header for CPU....also if i cant do the basic things like powering the mobo shame on me

Clear CMOS - Check
checking the gfx card on other boards - Check
did u start the system with 2 different brands of rams ? - Nop only used OCZ

Done that dont work

did that wid my old PSU ..will chk wid VIP ...also my Cabby is not faulty ..after the failed attempt of Abit..reassembeled the old config ie ..Proccy+D945+Dynet+Cheap PSU on my chieftec cabby n eveery thing working just fine:ashamed:

check memory voltage specs

guess u have put that after reading the whole thread...so plz tell me who do i do that..when my mobo is not booting ??:bleh:

see if the new psu u got is workin properly or not... n if possible get a better one... n check with only 1 ram chip.. might work....

^^mate did u try shorting the power switch header(pins along with the activity LED, power LED headers)....nothing happens or the cpu fan does spin??...do double check u not shorting the wrong power header..

and VIP 400w gold is not at all a cheapo psu...its a very decent one. FYI VIP/POWERSAFE is now manufactured by kunhar peripherals.

yup did that ...nothing happnd...even reset the bios/cmos wont help....after plugginh in ..all i get is the Red LED ...thats all....even the proccy/smps fan does not start :@

^^did i see u mention u got a new board??...then straight away get a replacement dude..y bothered about thingz...if everything you did correctly as per suggested in above posts then it seems a hardware conflict.

lol which gpu card are u using check if u gpu card is not working make sure try another gpu card from u friend

if u psu has 24 pin unknown brand try if work with another friend gpu card

if u hdd not working then unplug the cable try boot if the cpu fan and gpu fan spring

Can be a problem wid memory voltage...

try using el cheapo standard specs memory which work on 1.8v

ur OCZ one's may be working on 1.9v-2.1v ...

(ur old board mayb able to adjust mem voltage automatically as per requirement)

if ur board boots wid el cheapo memory... then set memory voltage = 2.0v n use ur OCZ.

This issue has encountered wid mainly OCZ CL4 memory (Platinum/Crossfire and SLi editions mainly)

I think the board is shorting somewhere. check if its making contact anywhere to the backplate. try running it out without a cabinet. Proably with the mobo seated on its cardboard box. Make sure you take proper precautions before you attempt this.

power on the board and just move the monitor plug that u connected to the gpu frm side to side.it should post.
