The surge protectors costs 4k. I am not sure if surge protectors withstand multiple lightning surges. New Deco price is 3199. Not a cost effective solution.

That's why you need a protector that features a self-test to check viability and this needs to be done on a periodic basis.

otherwise, your alternative is to pull the cable every time a thunderstorm approaches.

Watch for lightning, count 1 one thousand, 2 one thousand, and so on to determine whether the storm is approaching you or not.

This problem went away for me in 2006 as Airtel provided just a telephone cable RJ-11 that hooks into their router. Their junction boxes on the street I'm told contain lightning surge suppressors. When challenged to prove by showing they really did the guy declined. I've not had a lightning surge problem since 2005.

Moving back to the original discussion, can i RMA with TP Link given that it has 3 year warranty?

Doubtful as they would have an act of god provision in their warranty somewhere. Try.
