^^Totally agree. I think we should stop worrying about PMs etc and just concentrate on the local MLA/ Municipality/ panchayat etc. candidates. Vote for the individual over the party as all parties eventually follow the same policies aside for a few tokenisms here or there.
 
Yes, this is the simpler way of doing it, but it requires ppl know what their local political scene is like. it all starts here. Forget the bigwigs in Delhi, what's the local fellow offering ?

If everyone did that the bigger issues would take care of themselves on their own.

sorry to say this, knowing fully well that nothing ignites passions like politics (which really doesn't have a place on a technology forum) but it's the same face that led to a hardline shift in the fence sitters amongst the minorities back in '91..and we, as a nation, still bear the after-shocks
