Hello,

Hello im working as an Free Lancer on O-Commerce and Some basic Multimedia Projects in a Famous Freelance Site and earning in 5 figure.

I have experience in drawing Cartoons, Sketch Stencils and Other Color Drawings through Pencil and Colors.

For to improve my skills in Digital Artists i thought of buying an Tablet, at first an cheap one and bought an i-Ball 6X8 four months ago. It didn't have sensitivity or Keys on the Tablet like Wacom - the exclusive tablet manufacturer..

The i ball Malfunctioned the next month and when i connect to my Pc and use it , i couldn't select anything and it was always in dragging mode.. checked with other systems too, Same problem exists.

Still i didnt give it for RMA. I haven't used it to illustrate art on my PC.

It was all finally piece of garbage, no use, all lying around.

And now im thinking of Buying Wacom Brand Professional Intuos3 Series tablets, they were the Perfect one and givss accurate accuracy. But price starts at 14,000 for 4X6, 6X8 has been my choice and it costs 18,000/--

I had an demo of Home Series of Basic Bamboo tablets at IT Home Anna Nagar,Chennai. Well it was perfect and all series tablets are Battery Free Pen. They too had stocks of Intuos3 Series Tablets.

The product link :-
Amazon.com: Wacom Intuos3 6 x 8 Pen Tablet: Electronics

What suggestions you give and well any of you use Wacom Intuos3 Tablet.. ?
How does they perform.

I have been using the Wacom Bamboo 4x6 for the last year without problems. I had bought it for 3.5k for basic inking purposes. Uses the same battery less pen and has multiple buttons which can be remapped to custom functions. The only drawback is that the tablet is not transparent (like the graphire and intuos series) so you can't use it as a transparent overlay for sketching (though the pen still works if you keep the paper on the tablet surface, but it may damage the nib). Driver support is good. The intuos and graphire series have different pen nibs/brushes available (at a premium). However the scroll wheel on the Bamboo rocks. I had bought it on the advice of another member here - PiXeLpUsHeR

(then known as Artful Dodger) and I am still obliged to him for recommending me to buy a Wacom over the iBall for the same reasons that you have quoted in this thread. I bet he can address your problem better as he is a graphic designer as well. (PM him) :D

ok well i will Contact PiXeLpUsHeR .. Thanks in for your suggestion. But i will buying Intuos3 6X8 it costs 18,000.. So more comfort than bamboo.

Hi, yes I have an older Wacom... an Intuos2 XD 6x8 that I have now had for about 3 or 4 years or so. It is still in perfect working condition and I have occasionally changed the nibs as needed... You can replace the pens when they get old, but I have not needed to do this either. I am also an avid Linux fan and there are great drivers for Linux too.... all in all it was a great purchase that I paid somewhere around $300.00 for in the US as I mentioned... a few years ago.

It is one of the best purchases I ever made for my computer and my work and as ..::Free Radical::.. mentioned, I also tried a few cheaper models, but realize now that nothing compares to the real thing ;)

ohh thanks for suggestions. buying an Bamboo will be waste for an Professional user all though its good for simple and avg use, ill be going for either Intuos3 6X8 and above...

So Wacom manufactures only tablets, so product usability and Features will be best in Class ..

Ok i dropped cash for unicron Infosystems for an Wacom Intuos3 6X11 Professional tablet, It will be arriving to me by Saturday or Monday,

Will Post pictures of it...

Great purchase, I am sure you will really appreciate having a nice tablet that is compatible with everything :D

The tablet was shipped by AFL Wiz today (5-8-08) and ill expect the courier tomorrow. I dont know how big the Box is actually ... 6X11 would be perfect fit for me if i had gone to 6X8 it will be somewhat smaller or if i had gone to 12X!9 it will be loo large and also some more bucks to spend ..

At first i need to try it on PhotoShop CS3, Corel Painter X and Open Canvas 4.5 and then later use with Adobe Illustrator CS3, Flash CS3 and Manga Studio

it will take me to get used with tablet along with the pen , also Express Keys...

If this suits well (it will) and i get more experience using the tablet, next is to Purchase an Cintiq Medium Sized LCD Tablet later after an year.

But Cintiqs were never purchased by Standard user, but only those by Digital Artists.

For the apps you are using, you will find this tablet more than appropriate. I had only used tablets a little, but when I worked at Dreamworks/PDI I really learned to use it in the production environment. I have a 6x8 with a dual monitor setup, and it works great. If you do not have a multiple monitor setup for your work, this is something else you should consider. For example... in photoshop you can devote one ful monitor to your art, and then put all the tools in the 2nd.... or if you are doing some cloning and painting from 2 images... you can work on both images at the same time.

Hooray.. I got my Wacom Tablet Intuos 3 6X11 from Unicorn Info Systems Mumbai .. 17k bucks for it ..

The tablet is big and comfortable size, Nice Pen with Rubber grips, Holder ... I have to touch my hands on it and Use with Several Soft wares. It will take an 2-5 days to get used with it .

Thanks all in this thread for Advices.

Ok Below are the Picture of it :-

i got my wacom graphire 4x6 from the neoteric fellows in cochin(and got a really nice deal too - about .8k cheaper :D). Not used it anywhere near as much as i'd though i would though.

I'd have recommended the graphire 6x8 as against intuos or the other pro tablets as you don't have any prior experience with the product and that one is a bit cheaper.

Well this is a long term investment and besides... I'd have to use it every day.
And correct me if I'm wrong. Isn't the Bamboo series a sort of replacement for the Graphire series?

Guys i was thinking of buying one through KMD,

Guys please tell me which one is goood...ma max budget is 10k...

Thanks in Advance!
