Hello All,

I just got an Airtel Fiber installed - download speed is 120mbps per OOKLA - hence I guess it is FTTH
My existing Airtel Landline is now plugged into the Nokia Fiber Router - It all works good

The problem is that the router needs to be ON all the time for the landline to function - not what I want. I prefer to only turn on the router for a few hours each day to use Internet

Is there a sort of splitter to which I can connect the landline directly? (like I used for copper landline/broadband?). The installation engineer says he is not sure. The copper wire will be removed shortly for the entire building.

What are my options? In case none, how safe is it to keep the router ON 24x7?

The Airtel landline uses VOIP technology, hence needs the router to be on all the time. Yes, it is perfectly safe to keep the router ON 24x7.
