This happened to me once. Airtel offered to upgrade our broadband plan a long time ago from 384 kbps to 448 kbps for a slightly increased charge. After consenting, they said they'd call back and never did. When I called them about the whole thing they said they didn't know how that could've happened because no such plan existed.

Weird.

EDIT: Wow, that Freedom 1699 plan sounds great compared to my Home 1499 Plus plan! Lucky you, it doesn't seem to be offered in Chennai according to the Airtel website.

Shoot a mail to Wecare & see if they can offer you this... AIRTEL does not change plans on their sites instantaneously & this is a kind of special offer....
 
Just got confirmation call for migrating to Rs 1299 Turbo Connection . The repesentative spoke like a robot :O

1mbps, can't wait . :yahoo::yahoo:

Newsflash!! its FUPed .. its not mentioned in tariffs they sent but the rep I talked to on phone confirmed that its FUPed .. :@

Is the Freedom 1699 a FUP plan or completely unlimited?
I spoke to CC now and have migrated to 1699 but he said that both turbo 1299 and freedom 1699 are FUP plans. :S

Moreover, i am still nt clear as to whether these FUP limits are for upload+download or only download.
Can someone who has experienced this tell plz...
 
Got a special offer call myself today. I am currently on the 1Mbps plan and they are offering me 2Mbps Unlimited + 300 Rs worth calls (local and STD) + Airtel Games On Demand subscription for 2999/-. Its not that good a plan, but I reluctantly went for it for the time being. I will probably switch back to 1Mbps after a month or two.
 
Thanks for notifying, I got mine changed. Although I was pissed that they didn't notified me regarding it....Got myself freedom 1699..

Its definitely up+down... just like the limited usage plans.
 
i hope all of you who are changing plans now are aware that if they had taken plans like 999 earlier and havent changed, FUP is not applicable on them. If they change the plan now, they come under FUP umbrella

i get a feeling, airtel is calling up most active downloaders and giving them better plans at some discounted rate so that it seems like a really good deal but the real intention being to get them under FUP
