Airtel Prepaid Unlimited 5G question.

There should be a drop-down below, try selecting "NR Only" from it
Then I get absolutely no signal lol. Maybe airtel currently has issues with 5g in my area. I am relieved that there is a chance I was not scammed atleast. Thank you guys for your inputs.

Then you have no actual 5g coverage in your area, unfortunately. For reference, this is what it shows for me with jio.
The app might not be 5G compliant. Check for that
It should be the stock android "phone info" activity, on earlier versions of android you could invoke this with *#*#4636#*#* , but doesn't seem to work anymore. The activity still exists, but they've probably just removed the link from dialer. All these apps do is open the RadioInfo activity under the com.android.phone package.

Guys I found a new thing. It seems it has something to do with my phone and the issue may not be the fake 5g thing.

So, i tested my sim card by inserting it in a Pixel 6a. It is indeed unlimited there even after consuming all the daily data limit, and the speed is also very fast at around 250mbps.

My phone is a Realme GT 2. I compared the "phone info" and there seem to be no difference. Even on the Pixel, it says LTE too but the unlimited 5G is working without issues there.

Do you see a Claim Unlimited 5G banner in Airtel App? I vaguely remember seeing mention of my mobile model in the SMS I received after I claimed unlimited 5G on the App.

PS: This was approx 1.5 years ago, things might have changed since then.

So if you leave sim in the pixel for some time like an hour and then transfer back to the realme is there any improvement?

Clearly sim is 5G capable.
The airtel offer is genuine.

I can't see why which phone makes a difference here unless that realme isn't fully 5G compliant for some reason

Airtel does list that Realme model as 5G ready

Yes, I downloaded some test files around 1GB, and then did lots of speed tests. No issues. But when I transfer back to Realme, the unlimited 5G is gone.

I have been using the unlimited 5G offer since their launch, it was only 1-2 months before Airtel and Jio hiked their plans that I wasn't able to use it, I just thought their offer was over.

Perhaps, Realme broke something in their updates. I heard that they often roll-out broken firmware updates.

This is what makes no sense. You are able to use 5G with the realme. So the phone is 5G compliant.

I thought this was a binary thing. Either you get 5G or not.

How do you partially break 5G :)
